    Sounds like you have an interesting car Meistersinger. Good luck with it. I have a 1983 Citroen Gsa and a couple of spare motors for it.

    I had a vague memory of there being a fuse in the alternator so had a look at the work shop manual and some did. I restrung the fuse between the 3 terminals inside the red rectangle (15 amp) at the bottom is the spade terminal for the dash board light.

    not really. I am guessing you are using a resistance setting on the volt meter. It only happened in the last month or so. I will take a alternator to get it checked out at a auto sparky. I think there is 2 locally.

    I found it surprising the get 4 with the same problem. I will be rebuilding the motor soon as it has a leaking valve, on one cylinder. I am tidying up a spare motor to go into the car While I do it.

    This is my test light with the motor runing it only indicates 12.5 V, I also have a multimeter as well.

    The number 2 terminal is to the lower right in the car , You can just see the red insulation on the spade terminal

    I will take a photo of one for you Nitro I have a spare of the same brand. Terminal 2 is a spade terminal and the other 2 bolt on.

    Thanks for that Nitro. I have a volt meter and a multiple light tester. I recently had to replace the ignition switch, But I doubt that should cause it.

    I wish every one good luck with their cars. I am fighing mine as well it won't charge, I have tried 4 different alternators but still the same the belt is tight. It will hold a charge if I use a battery charger. I am about to swap the motor with a spare one I have, then rebuild this one.
