Opening Image (Around words 1 to 0)
Evie, a small 3 year old, is playing at having a tea party with her dollies, when she hears a smash
from downstairs. She goes downstairs to see and finds her mother being beaten by her father, who is
an alcoholic. Noticing his daughter, he takes her doll and throws it into the fireplace. He bellows for her
to go to her room or he'll beat her, so Evie dashes to her room crying.
Set-up (Between words 1 and 0)
Lady Penelope, Parker, Sherbet and my toddler self wake up to another beautiful day in the
mansion. We do our usual morning routine together, and Lady Penelope suggests we go see her friend
Holly, whom she hasn't seen in a while since her wedding day. I cower in fear a little bit, because her
husband might be there, but Penelope reassures me it'll be fine.
Catalyst (Around 0 words)
However, once we arrive, Holly's husband spouts nasty things to us, and almost hits me with his
belt. I have just made friends with Evie, Holly's daughter, but then we had to leave, causing me to burst
into tears and cry all the way home.
Parker finds Lady Penelope shaking in the corner, in tears, because fortunately I was right about Holly's
husband. They decide something has to be done with Holly.
Debate (Between 0 and 0 words )
Lady Penelope, Parker, Sherbet and I host a meeting in the dark basement of the mansion,
explaining what has to be done about Holly and Evie. Parker suggests calling International Rescue to
throw him into the sea, but Penelope refuses, stating International Rescue is only used for big situations
like rescues or fires or ocean eruptions. Suddenly, I belt out "Phone!" and Penelope is confused. Parker
describes this to her ladyship, stating that we should give Holly a phone and let her and Evie stay at the
mansion until her husband is arrested.
Break into Act 2 (At around 0 words)
Lady Penelope at once snaps out of her confusion and states it is a great idea. So while Holly's
husband is out at the pub, she finally gets the courage to call Penelope and ask to stay with her.
Quickly, she and Evie pack their bags and set off to the mansion, where they are welcomed warmly. I
am glad to reunite with Evie again, but then she shows me her broken dolly.
We host a funeral for it in the back garden just as it begins to rain, then throw a piece of paper with
'Holly's Old Life' written on it into the fireplace, meaning Holly's old life is over.
B-Story (Around 0 words)
The B-story focuses on my friendship with Holly's daughter Evie, and Lady Penelope helps us
reconcile, especially after Holly's husband tried to hit me with his belt. Even Parker joins in with his own
brand of humor to make Evie happy.
Fun & Games (From 0 to 0 words)
This is the fun part!
Holly and Evie start a new life with me and my family.
1.We head to the pier for some fish and chips, and Evie and I ride on a kiddie pony ride.
2.Evie and I play with Sherbet, who gently nubbles Evie on the fingers.
3.Parker plays hide and seek with me and Evie while Lady Penelope and Holly watch.
4.Lady Penelope soothes us to sleep by playing her favourite classical piano piece.
5.Great Aunt Sylvia and Uncle Langley come to visit and are delighted, thinking Holly and Evie are new
additions to the family.
6.We attend a family gathering, where Evie, Sherbet and I play with the other kids.
7.Holly's black and white cat, Kipper, runs all the way from the house to reunite with Evie, where he
becomes well at home.
8.To Parker's shock, Evie gets to sleep with him in his bed, while Holly gets to use the spare bedroom.
9.Kipper and Sherbet interact and become best friends.
10.Evie joins me and Lady Penelope in playing our favourite game of dressing up in silly costumes.
11.Holly and Evie join us in going to the beach, where we build sandcastles, relax on the sand and
splash about in the ocean.
Midpoint (At around 0 words)
However, Holly's drunk husband is jealous of all the attention Lady Penelope and us are giving
her, and makes a death threat through the phone ordering Holly to come home or he'll kill her. Holly
refuses, causing a long, loud argument between the couple. Holly smashes the phone to the ground
and runs upstairs crying. Lady Penelope comforts her and tells her that her husband won't be around
for long, as soon he'll have health problems from drinking too much.
Bad Guys Close In (Between 0 and 0)
While Lady Penelope, Parker, Sherbet, Holly, Kipper, Evie and I are out for a drive, a crowd of
angry onlookers march in booing and demanding Lady Penelope and Parker get arrested for domestic
and child abuse charges. The police even arrest me too, even though I haven't done anything. Holly
tries to stop them, and Evie calls out to me, but they're swallowed up by the angry crowd.
All is Lost (Around 0 words)
Now we're sitting on a bench with prison bars above us, pondering what to do next. I begin crying
because I want to see Evie and Kipper again, and Lady Penelope reassures me that maybe since
Holly's husband will die of alcohol poisoning, their lives will go back to normal again.
Dark Night of the Soul (Between 0 and 0 words)
However, their lives hadn't gone back to normal. Evie is sent to her room while Holly's husband
yells at her for running away and betraying him. Holly whimpers that she only wanted to find
somewhere to escape her boring, mundane life, but her husband aims a knife to her heart, which she
slams onto the ground and races upstairs to grab Evie and Kipper and run out the door, despite her
husband screaming for her to come back.
Break into Act 3 (About 0)
Just us Lady Penelope, Parker and I begin to lose hope, suddenly we hear someone break the
prison bars as hard as she could - it's Holly, with Evie, Kipper and Sherbet! They help us out of jail and
we escape just in time, as the police trail after us. However, we stop at Holly's house, where we are
stopped dead in our tracks by police lights shining brightly on us....
Finale (Between 0 and 0)
...but then the police lights point directly towards Holly's husband, who is going to commit suicide
for living a terrible life. Holly, in tears, tells her husband not to jump, but her husband says, "Sorry,
honey....but I've got to do this. Remember me...."
He then leaps off the highest window and lands on the ground, falling to his death. Everyone begins
mourning Holly's husband's death, and one of the police officers apologises to Lady Penelope for the
mix up, and tells her, Parker and me that we are free to go. Hearing this, I tackle Evie to the ground in a
matter of excitement, and Holly, Sherbet, Kipper, Penelope and Parker do too.
Final Image (At 0)
My family and I help Holly and Evie refurbish and decorate their house to make it look as good as
new like it used to, and full of colour, just like it was before Holly's husband came into her life. Once the
house is fully refurbished, Christmas comes around, and we celebrate at Holly's house, where Holly
gifts Evie a new doll. I am moved to silent tears by all this, and Lady Penelope hugs me, telling me that
no matter what happens to me, she'll still always love me, just like Holly loves Evie.
Later, in the mansion, Lady Penelope settles me into bed with her, as we watch the snow falling
outside. A chorus can be heard singing 'Silent Night' outside, ending the story on an emotional note.
