A Crazy Introduction

Lady Snickers

Hello there! My name is Terilyn!
I am a fresh, high school graduate with Asperger Syndrome. I was diagnosed with that when I was ten... maybe even more. Since I'd like to keep this as short as possible, I am also an avid reader, writer, singer, and scientist.

I am pretty open minded, and I'd love to join this community. To be certain, I am also fond of the community members on this site! I look forward to sharing my stories, adventures, and awesomeness to the community!

For those who know me from role playing sites, apps, etc. I am also a very educated person.

I am actually 18 years old, and almost obsessed with writing stories, anime, and setting impossible objectives. Although I had some interest in things like Touhou Project, none of them are enough to override my life. Hell, sometimes my brain decides to be overly social and touchy.

Also, why is it that I go on these crazy tangents?

Yes, I was fairly obsessed with Anime about a year ago. I started watching Crunchy Roll, realized how much anime was mediocre, and then decided I had to find the best anime of all time. Not only that, but I had to develop a fairly comprehensive knowledge of the medium and how it evolved over time. I then undertook the project of compiling a list of landmark Anime and watching them in chronological order. I got up to the 1970s before work interfered and my computer crashed, depriving me of my list. I suppose I could just rewrite the list, or watch anime in a non-specified manner, but I think I'll have to retrieve the data from my old hard drive.

I also attempted to create an anime/J-rock cover band. That project failed because I couldn't find dedicated members. I think that whole experience caused a bit of a negative association for me with both anime and bands. It's a shame, because those are both things I enjoy but now have an aversion to.

Also; I don't mind tangents. Indeed, I am quite prone to them myself.

Hi & Welcome!

It was a saying that 'All roads lead to Rome', so all tangents must lead there too I guess... But what good is that ? (scratches head)

:D

Welcome aboard :)
I hope you enjoy the community.

I didn't expect so many people waving at me, of all people; flattery isn't necessary!

But it is appreciated! As you can see, I also have Asperger Syndrome. When I was six, I was diagnosed with ADHD/ADD (NOS). But it was only in the first grade when my teachers slapped me with an IEP. Being ignorantly aloof, I took pleasure in attending these "mini interrogations". Now, I realized how much I despised being barred from Honors programs. At one point, when I was ten years old, my mom took me to the pediatrician. The doctor reassessed my diagnosis. Finally, she diagnosed me with Asperger Syndrome, which is a type of high functioning autism. At first, I hated the label. I likened it to mental retardation, and I was probably one of the few African American females to enunciate my words correctly. I actually kept my symptoms around the closet until the seventh grade.

As a kicker, my uncontrollable " blackouts" occurred. They occurred so much to the point where I was one step away from the mental institution. My mother even said that I was "beyond help", even though I kept telling her that I loved her... But my mom made me that way. I was too blind to see the errors of my ways. Furthermore, while most children passed driver's tests, when I stepped to the plate, I couldn't even get through the basic maneuvers, which made my parents halt my performance. I really wanted to drive, but I see myself failing.

obsessed with writing stories(I guess they're on the literature level?), also drawing characters too...

I was also placed under the proverbial microscope as a child. The best diagnosis I got, however was, "A puzzle, wrapped in an enigma, shrouded in a mystery." ADHD was mentioned, as was dyslexia, but nothing conclusive. One specialist told my parents I would never be able to live independently. I am loath to say, I have not yet proven him wrong.

As for your blackouts, I hope they aren't too dangerous. Do you lose time or behave out of character?

Dear, Ladys nickers, welcome.
I appreciate your deep and varied knowledge on a broad range of subjects.
I am male, old, tired, tread upon, retread and retired.
I have one foot in the grave, and have just recently wiggled one foot out of the grave and my in between parts are caught and pinched by the lid of my sarcophagus.
Enough about my issues, tell us more about you. Nothing complicated though. Stuff like scientific endeavors, research, and theories, personal philosophies and your point of view on the theological implications of an incoming mortar round, simple stuff.

Two things, first try to learn to drive, practice, and practice, try, fail and learn, practice. Driving is an expression of personal freedom. Be the commander of your vessel and your destiny as well.
Second, I am interested in the passing out when sober. Not that I have a drinking problem or anything . I drink, I pass out, fall down. No problem.
Serious I have painless migraine with aura. If I didn't think I was going to die half the time, ok more than half, ok every time, my condition is interesting to me. Would you care to share what you feel as you slip into pseudo darkness.
Welcome and post often.
