I forgot to mention originally that the post is meant to be humorous.Or:
Wife: Blah, blah, yeta, yata. What did I say?
Husband: Ummm, uhhh, yata, blah
Wife: hey, that isn't what I said: sometimes I honestly don't think you listen to me!
Husband: I was joking baby and I do listen and sorry that I give the impression that I don't. I love you!
Wife: angry look turns into a smile.
Husband: worried look turns into a smile to see his wife smiling.
Wife: throws a pillow at husband
Husband: feigns hittiing the ground.
Wife: joins him......
Life goes on, due to open communications; a heck of a sense of humor and learning to understand each other.
And, of course, the above works both ways.
Been married to an nt for 25 years and gradually learning lol

My husband complains all the time that I am a great one for ruining a joke! It also shows that just because we are aspies, does not make it suddenly different lol
I also do say, in my defence, that jokes to do with racism or about women etc, are not really jokes to my mind, because they will hurt someone!
Glad that this does not reflect you!
Actually, I was trying to relate to married women in a way. I haven't met one yet that did not at some point want to "smack my husband for not listening to me".My husband complains all the time that I am a great one for ruining a joke! It's the opposite with me. The only thing I really learned from talking was to be quiet more often. So my lack of articulation comes across as "not listening"Try this one woman then lol it is my husband who says I never listen to him!
