A Jewish programme of interest

Hides, I am quite shy. I don't like to post a lot, but sometimes I have no other choice. It is simply doesn't fit in anywhere.

Anyway must confess have seen some interesting replies by some of our Jewish community on this forum and read with interest. What was described was quite a strict upbringing like my own in some sense. I won't discuss my own though. Some things perhaps more strict and some not.

Unless someone brings it up I cannot mention names.

I was just by chance flicking through BBC iplayer on my TV smart TV but this can be watched online as well. This may be restricted to just UK. I don't how the BBC iplayer works like that. There was a very interesting programme though for me. They had a documentary series on Jews, You may find it by typing that. There was one programme, I am not sure of how many, I didn't wish to Google but I may have to link to it online laughs. Anyway, they had one called Faith and it featured a Jewish man. He is a drug addict also. He was very interesting and I was watching with interest. He mentioned in it that many parents in the Jewish faith will not let their children use the internet at home and I think said or have phones as well. I didn't grow up with these things either...they wasn't around. I have seen this mentioned by other Jewish members. Other things I found interesting too and some might as well.

Another thread right surely that home broadband is way expensive in the UK...mine was around £30 plus just for the internet and pay seperate on my phone another £20. You wonder if to do away with the home broadband and just use your phone and mobile broadband and tether but nice to have the ease of use. Moves on swiftly not to be discussed.

I will say I saw online locally about a syngagogue which is part of a faith forum of multiple faiths. They was doing a gaming day event and put it on the website it was advertised. I never knew who can come. I wanted to join and give it a go and thinking part of a multi faith initivative perhaps could be open to all. I just asked if I could come along. Life well I am trying to extend what I can do lets say. I was replied I cannot attend in the conditions of today's world. It is so sad for I don't watch the news anymore and not a political person..shame I couldn't go. You don't know who I am and that I come in good intentions. They may have thought I may have wanted to hurt members given the violence and disgraceful behaviour of some. Nothing more to be said.

Anyway here is a link to the BBC website a photo so it can be identified easily. I have found and it may be that and I will still upload my TV image.

There are so many levels of observance within Judaism. Just looking at all those described as ultra-Orthodox, a world of difference exists between the extremes. What my family permitted - reading certain secular books and magazines, occasional viewing of screened movies, listening to the radio, using cell phones with games and cameras - would horrify some of our neighbors and cause them not to socialize with us. Then there are others much less strict than we were.
