A Year in Review

I am always looking for new ideas of what to do next. You can include days out etc. I live in London UK.

I will start this.

For me really November-April was a right off apart from Christmas and appointments as I didn't really go out. I had to do something about it when I read my Autism report again and saw I had quite high restricted interests scores and sensory needs just alone that staying at home wasn't cutting it so I forced myself to try to go out more.

April-

My birthday is in March, but in April I decided to have a late birthday day out at Dopamine Land in South Kensington in London. I found it ok, but I thought it was a bit overpriced perhaps and no match to the Wow illumination museum in Zurich which I have visited at an earlier point..

I also in April met with a old school friend in a coffee shop.

May

In May I took a Uber boat ride which is pretty cheap over the Thames in London and it was a good therapeutic experience for me.

Also, in May I went to London Zoo which I loved and I saw a Zebra, Lion, Tiger amongst other animals, but those were my highlights and on my must list to see in real life.

Also in May I went to a local fair and just did my favourite rides the Ghost Train and Bumper cars. The Ghost Train was now just a walk through, I think most are these days.

Also, in May my brother treated me and my sister to go and see Back to the Future. I liked the nostalgia aspect, but it was a bit too loud for me on a sensory level. Glad I went though.

June

I didn't do anything notable.

July

I went to see Fuerza Bruta but I don't think it is probably still running now. I got cheap seats and they reserved me a sit down seat. I liked it as it was only about an hour. I don't like being in places too long for me.

In July as well I also went to Hormiman museum. I did enjoy it. It was a cheap day out, but the aquarium was no rival to Sea Life, but it was still nice to see and get out.

August

In August it was a summers day out. I went to Dover Priory which was ok, I prefer the sand of Margate though. I stopped off at Kearnsey Abbey because I like to visit parks with water features, particularly waterfalls. I started this project of visiting parks in London with waterfalls and filming them and uploading them to Youtube in 2021 during lockdown. I saw my first waterfall in a park in 2019. I saw all the waterfalls in London parks and recorded them and uploaded them to Youtube and have extended my parks visits a bit out since then.

Also in August I was a bit disappointed. I was led to believe that there was a waterfall at Buckingham Palace and I went to film it for those purposes and it didn't exist lol..move on. I also found out they allowed no photography in the state rooms and I like to a take a photo and read the wording later in my own time and have a record myself.

I also had a day out at a park with my dad which was lovely at Chingford Plain.

September

Cinema cheap ticket on a Saturday morning usually. I saw Garfield and Inside Out 2.

My nephew turned 21 and my niece had her engagement party and I attended the joint party.

October

In October I attended a theatre about a boy with a stammer at Stratford Theatre East to see Wonderboy, it was interesting.

I also in October had a mini retreat day at Aylesford Priory which I found helpful.

November

In November I found another waterfall and visited there and recorded it and uploaded it to Youtube. I went to Dunorlan Park in Tonbridge Wells. I started a thread here on this forum about my waterfall project in the interests section.

I have done different projects. I did one for my other comorbid condition which I uploaded to Youtube and also I did one on my faith which was a good project for me and gave me lots to do. I shared my journey here on this website in a thread a while back now. That post can be found in the religious section about page 4 I imagine. It is not to be discussed here. I though printed some cards for that project and shared it with a few people at my church. Today though I also took it to its final step and did a separate ebook, so it was a complete project, I started it over two years ago.

Self projects though can give some people a sense of purpose especially those who are not in paid employment. I have got involved in one as well in the past for my Co condition with the NHS.

I would like to see Rapunzel as a panto to round of the year as I like to see a panto around now, but it is not being shown. They are just repeating Snow Queen and I have seen it in a local theatre to me. I am also thinking about going away a couple of days for a retreat. I cannot quite believe that 2025 is not that far off.
