Hello everyone!

I'm new. New to here and new to learning all about my husbands possible aspergers diagnosis. Lots of questions and lots of light bulb moments. Here to learn more, be a support, laugh, cry and hopefully make some people smile.

Peace X

Nice to have you. But I have to warn you... Aspies can be a tough crowd for comedy. :D Something you learn is not all Aspies have all the so called Aspie traits, but that these traits are instead common among them, some more then others. One trait, is not automatically understanding jokes/humor. But I don't let that stop me from regularly trying, and hope you won't, because humor is a good thing. :)

Hi guys,

Bumbalina makes me laugh. My husband calls me it. It started as a joke about my big bum but has stuck.

I'm here to try and learn as much as I can. My husband has traits and I'm feeling awful for being hard on him at times for something that isn't or wasn't him just being an ass. I'm hoping I can be a better wife by learning from you guys!

Thanks for the welcome x

That would be a good thing for an Aspie to hear. Its the source of much conflict, internally as well as externally. Particularly if your an Aspie but don't know it. You are constantly questioning yourself and comparing yourself to people who are NT. You conciously can know what you do is ass-like (to others in general), but that is not why you do it, its a much more ingrained behavior.

Thanks Tom! I can tell already that being on here is going to be a positive experience! I've also convinced my husband to sign up!

It should be a very enlightening experience for him. I am self diagnosed, but only had a suspicion when I wandered on. It was what I learned here and on other Aspie forums that finally sorted it all out for me.

Welcome. If you have questions that need specific answers, feel free to PM one of us or create a thread with your question. We will then answer it, or attempt to. Aspies can be hard at first, but I am sure that you will find answers and help here from us.

You know, 'The Aspie's Wife' is a good title for something. Like a book, or movie, or at least a recently rediscovered chapter of Chaucer. Who will play you in the film?

P.S. I am in same set up. Me Aspie, and my wife is definately not. 30 years and counting. :)
