Achievements/Trophies in games; do you spend time on them?

With current games mostly having achievements/trophies, do you spend extra time to get a certain amount of achievements/trophies for whatever game you're playing?

For a while I didn't really care about them, though I found some were really funny and got more into doing that extra little thing, even if it doesn't reward me with anything, except for that extra icon on Steam or those 10 extra xboxlive gamerpoints. More recently I'm trying to do at least 50% of the achievements of any game. It gives me a rough indication of progress and some motivation to go exploring the game a bit more.

I should however add, with some games I will not make 50%, just for the sake of some achievements being beyond the point of difficult. I don't play them for the challenge, I play them for some extra fun. Some aren't worth the amount of hours you put in it either. And there's some that require you to play online with other people, which I rarely do. And other reason why I don't get 50%+ might be because DLC achievements are added and I didn't get to buy/play said DLC yet.

So, how about the fellow gamers on the board?

I generally don't bother with them, however if it's easy to get one then I'll go out of my way to get it. Like you, I don't play online with other people (not at all, for me), so I never get those trophies/achievements. They do give me a sense of achievement, so if I get one while I'm normally playing a game but happened to have done something special to earn it, that's quite nice in my opinion. There aren't many games where I have all the achievements/trophies (I play on the PC and PS3 (and Wii and DS but no achievements there)). I do like to look at the list of trophies (on PS3) or my achievements on the PC (Steam) sometimes. The ones I don't have, require playing online or a large time investment. So in short I'm not too bothered about them but they can be a nice addition to a game. That's my opinion, at this moment.

I never really cared. I've looked at such things as just another way to waste more time. If they don't give me something useful, I see no point in allocating time to pursue such things. There must be some kind of incentive... If there is none, there is no motivation. But, for those who like such things...that's awesome.

love achieves in games..though after i played fable II(or fable I) not so much ._. one achievement scarred my mind for life <- joke

it was the achievement where you had to "sleep" with 2 females and 1 male hooker what possessed me to go for it.. I dont know lol
