Airplanes

I've always felt that the Czech built Aero Ae45 is one of the most beautiful civilian piston twins ever built.

Post pics of your favorite planes and talk about them.

A-10 Thunderbolt II

Big fan of the aesthetics along with the terrifying sound of the Avenger autocannon

It's not PG-13 (due to language) but if anyone is interested, YouTube "A10 close call" to see and hear the terrifying power of that gun in action.

Messerschmidt Bf 110 G2 of II/ZG 1 Italy, 1943.

Not a particularly formidable aircraft, but since I was a young boy I always enjoyed the look of this plane as a heavy fighter-bomber escort. Though its role changed in the following year as a radar-guided night fighter. Somewhat effective against British night bombing.

Always loved how complex and artful the Germans painted their military aircraft.

I dont have any actual photos to show, so here's these instead, featuring a Cessna:

That's the island where my vacation house is. It is nice. Usually.

Over Chicago, coming out of Ohare.

I dont have too much else to say about this. I'm only recently starting to learn about aviation. I'm still at the "what the heck does this button do, why is that scary red thing beeping at me, well that sure was a wobbly landing" stage.

I tend to be more fond of airliners, probably due to spending too much time sitting in the things, but holy heck I aint ready for those yet. So, Cessna.

I agree, the only aircraft that was built around a gun. That loud buzz has to be terrifying to the bad guys and a wonderful sound to the good guys.

I collect vintage photos of all sorts, including airplanes and transportation, my identification skills of airplanes is poor though... Here is one I acquired recently, I have many more vintage airplane photos!

Interesting. Looks similar to a late 30s Lockheed Electra, but the smaller vertical tail on the fuselage makes this one a mystery. Saw another picture of a Lockheed, with very similar commercial markings. But no third tail, and the cockpit windows (canopy) were somewhat different.

^^^ That looks like a Beechcraft Model 18 on floats.

I like a photo like this as well for the overall scene, plus the history on the side of the airplane... Canadian Pacific Air Lines - Wikipedia
