i've stopped trusting doctors so, no. i guess i'll keep ignoring it when it's gone and trying to fight it when it's back.
Craziness is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. The above has not worked for you so far, so maybe it is time to consider doing something different.
Peer groups like Alcoholics Anonymous are different than going to doctors. Many people have quit drinking by going to such groups, and you have the chance to quit also. Nothing will make you stop your binges until you are ready. As long as you say,
hi. i'm dipsomaniac and every now and then i have these binges. once i have one, i can only postpone it. i can postpone it for months if i cant drink but the desire to drink will bother me every single day. when the binge comes in, * "i HAVE TO drink, sooner or later."
does anyone else have this problem? can you stop it once it's back?
you will be right. (*See bold in quote.)
Of course other people have this problem. That is why organizations like AA exist. That means when you are ready to stop your binge drinking, you have help available and you too can quit your problem drinking.
I am going to find you contact information for Alcoholics Anonymous and edit it in here.
Find a Meeting Near You | Addiction.com I tried this site with my local area and it does not have very many of the meetings available in this area. They have not cleaned up the multiple entries either, so I am wondering if the site is maintained. If you get to one meeting you can find others, so that might not be so important. I will put more meeting locator sites on here to make sure people can get to one in their area.
Alcoholics Anonymous : Find Local A.A.. This site does not have the actual meeting finder on it. You need to go to the link to your area to get that. It has choices for outside the US, or the state you are in.
I am going to put several more links in here to help you find meetings:
Alcoholics Anonymous AA Meeting Directory
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)
https://cogf.meetingfor.me/meetings
There are other support groups for addictions besides AA and narcotics anonymous. Codependents Anonymous is one of them. If you can't find what you need here, you can use a regular search engine like google to look up a meeting near you.
You can quit drinking, but doing it alone is not necessary. If you are an Aspie, getting help from others might seem hard, but it is not as hard as getting sober alone.
