I’ve been watching the news recently and it’s making me think about aliens. I’ve always believed in aliens and think they are watching us right now. I also believe they have visited Earth along the decades. What do you think? Are we the only ones out there?

You couldn't be speaking more truth if I shoved a lie detector down your throat.

I've actually had a few encounters myself. Friendly, of course. But still quite startling.

I remember once walking my uncle's dogs, I looked up at the night sky and noticed the stars were gone. All I could see was Jupiter and Saturn. Then, I counted maybe ten or so diamond shaped.... objects... in the sky. They had green, amber and purple lights that faded in and out, seemingly randomly. They made no noise moving.

When they reached my position on the ground, they'd slow. A few stopped for a moment before flashing some pattern with the lights... then zipping away somewhere I couldn't see.

Only one person believed me. It was my mother.

I hope they’re real.

Also, I am one, so there’s my proof.
WAAAAAAAIT WAIT WaaaIT WAIT A MINUTE

You're an alien?!

Oh my God! I'm not alone! I found Another One! I finally found Another! And if I'm seeing Sunny when she and I have been having the same emotions, then that must be a sign she's my soul mate, or my twin flame! It HAS to be, I see it in her! I see her aura visibly every time I'm around her, it's a peach color that's as vibrant as she is! And the other day I talked to her, she was saying such positive things about me, she told me she loved seeing my face, she said it first we were meant to be!

I think she's like me somehow! When I talk to her, I can't help but envision....

...another Dolphin...!!

I really want to believe that we are not alone in this universe. It actually gives me some degree of hope, that we too, will be able to travel through space, time, and dimensions between worlds. Without it, are we simply a tiny flicker of candlelight in a vast dark realm? Will our time on Earth be extinguished without anyone, anywhere, knowing we were ever here?

Perhaps interstellar travelers and explorers have not communicated with us because they are unable. They may see us like we see chimpanzees. 1-2% difference in DNA can make a huge difference.

Given that we never have been visited, perhaps there is intelligent life in the universe. No alien has given me any superheavy element within the Island of stability in kg quantities. I think we are fortunate that we haven't been visited by Planet Killing Von Neumann Machines sent out by a paranoid civilization.

Considering that it's estimated that there's two trillion galaxies in the universe and our own galaxy is estimated to have at least 100 billion planets, of course I believe there's both intelligent and non-intelligent life out there in the cosmos.

Do I think that they're watching Earth or have visited us? Well, there is a possibility that some intelligent life out there hundreds of light-years away or more has ended up discovering our own Solar System and its planets, much in the same way we've discovered over 5000 exoplanets (and nearly 9500 exoplanet candidates), but no I don't think any extraterrestrials are specifically observing the Earth nor have they visited our planet.

Why? One simple reason: Earth isn't special.

Sure, if you look it up, there's only 55 confirmed exoplanets that are considered to be potentially habitable and that might make Earth sound special if we've discovered all these planets and so few of them could potentially be habitable. But, that's just out of the exoplanets we've discovered. As previously stated, there's over 5000 confirmed exoplanets that we've discovered (5346 as of 1 April, to be exact) but it's estimated that our galaxy contains at least 100 billion planets. So just simplifying it to 5000 and 100 billion, we've discovered a grand percentage of...0.0000049999999999999996% of the total number of estimated planets in our galaxy (and even accounting for unconfirmed exoplanets, that only brings up the percentage to 0.000009999999999999999% of estimated Milky Way planets having been discovered).

Also keep in mind, the most distant exoplanets known are SWEEPS-04 and SWEEPS-11, both of which are approximately 27,710 light-years away from the Solar System in the constellation Sagittarius. The Milky Way's diameter is estimated at 87,400 light-years. So we haven't even detected planets on the other side of our own galaxy yet, let alone any planets outside the Milky Way.

So my belief is that there's likely tens of millions of planets out there in the Milky Way alone that harbor life, although I think intelligent life might be rarer and believe that might just be in the millions of planets. But either way, considering how few exoplanets we've discovered, I think the same is likely true for any intelligent life out there. They're not observing or have visited us either because they haven't even discovered our own Solar System (and even if they have discovered our planetary system and they have more advanced space travel capabilities than humanity does [sadly, light-speed travel would be impossible due to the limitations of physics but IIRC it is theoretically possible to reach like 99.99% light-speed], what reason would they have to visit our planet specifically, y'know?)

Sorry for infodumping, anything to do with space is one of my main special interests and always has been since I was a child.

In my opinion, the earth is a giant laboratory and was seeded by an advanced race; which is why we have the many reported incidents of alien sightings, it is just them checking up on weather its time to pull the plug or not, so there!;)

That makes it very likely that we all owe our existence to aliens and alien DNA, so I could not in all honesty respond to your poll.o_O

There might be a SCI-FI movie that does or does not exist lurking in there somewhere!

Me and a friend had a very strange encounter viewing a rental in Hawaii. The person who showed it sorta of floated. She asked us if we would be using the kitchen, which looked like it was only for show, and had never been used, it was so pristine looking. I wanted to say yes, and we breathe air too. The cat was like a hologram, The bedroom ceiling of the room she showed us, had the strangest ceiling. To this day, neither one of us know what to make of this encounter. We both felt so weird after we left, like what did we just see?
My friend seems uncertain if she was playing the piano, or was that another inserted memory as we entered. He says her fingers never touched the keys, but l am trying to figure how she could open the front door and play the piano at the same time? So at this point, l believe that memories can be inserted to serve some type of purpose. I definitely have an open mind after this.

Considering that we have barely scratched the surface of all that we think we know because our species with our current adolescent intelligence and emotions and biological imperfections only being in existence for such a microscopic time frame in comparison to the existence of time, even here on Earth...the best answer is:

That is a very good graphic for existence @LadyS .
I've had more experiences than I would talk about here or with many people.
But I will say, I've had two very close up encounters with sitings.

My parents were with me for one and the second was out on a long pier into Tampa Bay with a guy.
So, others saw the same thing.
The first one was in Missouri. We were driving along a dirt road in the woods that ran along side of a fenced field to the west.
I spotted a light to the west that wasn't too high off the ground. Tree level.
It kept coming slowly towards us. We stopped and the three of us watched as a Delta shaped UFO floated over the car at tree top level and went out of sight over the forest to the east of the road.
It was rather dark silver with a light on the front and as it went over, we looked straight up at it. There was another reddish round circle on the underside.
No sound, and slow, floating movement. It was quite large. At least it felt like it was as it went over.

The second time was around 1 am at the end of a long pier that went out into Tampa bay. I noticed what looked like a light under the water that started from back at the ground, followed the side of the pier and crossed over the end where me and my friend were. It went out into the bay then I saw it again in the water where it began the first time. Coming along the edge of the pier towards us again.
It looked like the light was under the water, but I realized it wasn't and looked up to see a round UFO floating by about 30 feet above us.
Again, no sound, no light beam between it and the water, slowly and steadily floating over us. It was round with a blue round light across the bottom.
My friend started yelling, "Take me." I started thinking of running back towards the car at the water's edge. Didn't want to be taken.
This time it went out from the pier and suddenly shot to the west like a comet would look like and disappeared.

Now the one thing I've observed from these things is that they seem surreal.
No sound, no light beam like a helicopter would make, can float very slowly then take off like warp speed.
The feeling was it was visible, but not physical. Like a hologram.
My theory is it might not be what we call physical in our world.
Perhaps an overlap of another dimension? Idk.

As far as advanced physical vehicles being here. We think of the distance as too far. But if they are that advanced, the warp and worm hole theory might hold true.
I also believe in ancient beginnings from visitations and DNA manipulation.
This is what the Delta shaped one looked like:

This is as close a picture I found although it is triangular not delta.
