Another Drunken Airline Pilot Caught

Hmmm. Being ten times over the legal limit in a breathalyzer test.

"The Japanese co-pilot was arrested at Heathrow on October 28 after failing a breath test 50 minutes before the Japan Airlines flight JL44 to Tokyo was due to take off with him in the cockpit."

Hardly what I'd call "divine wind". What was he thinking?

So much for worrying about technology failing...

Japanese pilot, 10 times over alcohol limit, jailed in UK

I wonder if that was close to lethal amount of alcohol.
Scary when you think that he might not have been caught if he had tic tacs and sunglasses.

I always try to eyeball the pilots when I board to see if they appear impaired, not that it would do me any good if I did think they had a problem because the flight attendants would likely ignore me.
