Hello, my name is Eve and, as you've probably guessed from the name, I'm female. I'm 19 and currently at University studying Biochemistry. I'm at a bit of an unusual stage in the diagnosis process in that a specialist psychiatrist has told my GP she's sure I have Aspergers but there's no funding for me to have an official assessment yet. I guess I joined this forum to find some like-minded people I can properly relate to. I do have four fantastic best friends who are all supportive and understanding, but I get the impression that they don't fully get it because I've always been good at covering up the Asperger 'traits' or they accepted my oddities so long ago they don't notice any more. My parents, on the other hand, have been somewhat disparaging - saying stuff like, "Everyone's a bit like that," or "The symptoms/traits are too vague" - which has angered and upset me.
So, basically, I'm hoping to meet people like me without the stress of leaving the house
