Hello, from Northern Ontario, Canada.
I dx'd a few months ago, at nearly 54, a year and a half into recovery from a nearly catastrophic burn out. Horrendous non care, from an array of general and specialist physicians, forced me to research the hell out of my situation and heal myself. It's a very good thing I'm autistic; "special interest" level research and lateral thinking saved me (with the help of the internet).
I see, now, that most of my family and all of my 3 grown children are also autistic (we thought we were just dyslexic) and I'm very thankful. We are a group of multipotentialites without trauma. My "career" and main special interest was in education, but engineering/architecture/construction is my longest and most beloved. Burnout has me regressed farther than I'd like but I'm at least 60% recovered.
I'm hoping to make contact with proactive autistics. I have no use for complaints without action. My drive for autonomy is palpable, and persistent.
I'm also extroverted, happy and financially stable...a real unicorn.
