Hey I'm new here as of this morning, wondering if there was any anime fans here and what you like! I'm a huge naruto fan, but I love a whole bunch of different animes. X

Quite a few I like.
  • Chobits
  • Prison School
  • Accel World
  • Gosick
  • Gabriel Dropout
I also collect anime figures.

If you search for anime in the search bar, you find many post on here about it. Below is one thread.

anime

I'm a small fan of anime. I like Naruto, I've watched the whole thing aside from a few fillers.

Eureka Seven and Cowboy Bebop are among my favorites.

I need to start another show soon. Any recommendations?

I grew up with Naruto, One Piece, Inuyasha, Rurouni Kenshin, Hellsing Ultimate, Trinity Blood and Spirited Away. I own the Spirited Away DVD and several 3-in-1 manga volumes of every series I listed except for Hellsing and Trinity Blood, though I am subscribed to Funimation so that I can watch those two whenever I like.

I haven't seen Eureka seven, but bebop is great. Depends what you like really, elfen lied is amazing and blue exorcist, death note, highschool of the dead. There's a lot more, like I said depends what you enjoy. I'm rather picky. X

I watch anime with the same predisposition I'd watch any other series/movie, not of a special distintion whatsoever. Basically what TV had to offer, or what do I get recommended to watch (Naruto Shippuden, Dragon Ball, Pokemon, One Piece, etc).

I like however anime from a technical viewpoint though. I love the presentation style, the techniques used, etc. It's really an awesome art. Too bad most of the people behind the scenes work in terrible job conditions.

Elfen Lied is one of the best series I have ever seen. Very poignant and makes you think twice before treating people badly just because they're different.

I agree, I find that many animes have a striking message like that, it's just a shame in real life people can see past others people's so called 'issues' .

Here's a fan-made anime, based on Classic Doctor Who:

Is it weird that I find anime!Jon Pertwee to be extremely attractive? It's probably his uncanny resemblance to a character I made up several years ago. Then again, I do own Ristorante Paradiso on DVD as well as Pub Encounter (Dandy Shot) on Steam, so interpret that as you will...

Well, you clearly like him for one reason or another - considering you just changed your avatar to a picture of John Pertwee's anime form. :)

I love anime as well and have watched a ton of it. I also like Chobits. Love Gosick, Black Bullet, sakurasou no pet na kanojo, Barakamon, Campione, Chuunibyou, Fairy Tail, Sword Art Online and so many others! lol I've not watched the Naruto one as of yet though. :D

You like sword art online too? Most people hate it, I loved it. Naruto is amazing, if you like fairy tail you would probably like it too. Have you seen the devil is a part timer? It's the funniest thing I've watched I'd recommend it x

YES! I was cracking up through the whole dang thing! Hahaha I loved it!
Have you seen Maoyuu Maoyuu Yuusha? It's not as funny but it's definitely a great one. I really loved it but everyone is different.
Ok, maybe I'll check Naruto then. ;)
Really? I thought Sword Art Online was amazing though. Well, to each their own I guess. :D

It's because kirito has plot armour, which is ridiculous since most main characters do. I haven't seen that, but I will check it out, is this a zombie? Is also great for a laugh x

No I haven't, will have to look it up. I think I've heard of it though. Really? That's lame, that's what helps make him such a great character, because he's still human under it all. People, never happy anymore. lol

I'm not massively big on anime, or at the very least not as much as I used to be. I tried Elfen Lied but, as I've mentioned on a similar discussion on the subject, it wasn't for me (I'm not a big fan of gore - which this anime has plenty of).

In my childhood, I watched Pokemon and Digimon as well as later watching Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragonball Z/Dragonball GT and seasons 1 to 3 of Beyblade, although my favorite anime was Cardcaptors. I've seen a lot of people hate on this version (with all the edits, issues with the dubbing, episodes out of order, etc) and instead recommend the original Cardcaptor Sakura instead - I can understand all that.
Still, in spite of all its flaws I still love watching it, and at the least the version I watched here in the UK had its episodes in order if I remember rightly.
Here's a clip from one of my favorite episodes.

Something that always gets me is when you get people who complain about the English dubbing, who then keep going on videos of the dubbed anime just so they can complain in the comments about how 'inferior' it is to the original.
I never understand why; to try and put it into perspective, you don't burn yourself on a stove and cry out in pain - then keep burning yourself on the stove just so you can scream and cry out "it hurts! it burns! it's ruining my life!"
Besides, if it wasn't for the English Dub of these anime series (however good or bad those dubs are), many of us probably wouldn't even know what anime was and it likely wouldn't have gotten so popular here in the West.

For example, if anime hadn't been dubbed and edited for western audiences, Sailor Moon viewers wouldn't be able to poke fun at how the opening song says she will 'never run from a real fight' and yet ends up doing exactly; often accompanied with eardrum-shattering screams.
If you don't believe me, fast forward to 15:30 of this review:
