Any people reading this who either have relatively recently (i.e. perhaps within the past 5 years) graduated secondary school/high school students and are currently in an apprenticeship, employment and/or post-secondary/high school academic or other program, or who is a college or university student AND was diagnosed with a pervasive developmental disorder (such as Autism Spectrum Disorder or Childhood Disintegrative Disorder), speech or language delay or impairment, or other condition or disability?
I am a 1st year college/university student who has been officially diagnosed with Autistic Disorder/PDD-NOS (based on the DSM-IV) during childhood. When I was a young child I did have moderate to severe receptive and expressive language delay. Interested to know what other’s experiences in employment, college or university were (but even if you have not been diagnosed with a condition or disability, or are not a recent high school graduate or a student, I would be happy to hear from you. ).
