Any smooth jazz fans here?

I would like to know, are there any smooth jazz fans here?

Smooth jazz is my favorite style of music. I love to listen to SiriusXM's Watercolors.

Jazz is my favorite genre, however, Smooth Jazz has never been one of my favorite sub-genres. I have, particularly, liked the subject matter of your posts, by the way.

To me this is smooth jazz: Dave Brubeck, Take Five. Keep your speakers muted until a few minutes in, as you'll be assaulted by the sound of the audience clapping at the beginning.

I was under the impression that Smooth Jazz consists of the likes of Kenny G. and that type of artist/sound. Dave Brubeck is one of my favorite artists. I'd not considered him to be a Smooth Jazz artist, by any stretch. He very well could be, though. I would be surprised if he was.

Note that smooth jazz is more than just Kenny G. In fact he wasn't even the first smooth jazz artist based on what music would be considered smooth jazz today. Kenny G considers Grover Washington Jr. to be his main idol, and many of Grover's works can be considered smooth jazz. Other pioneers include George Benson, David Sanborn, Bob James, Chuck Mangione, and Spyro Gyra.

I do occasionally listen to jazz. I've listened to Boney James, Kool&Klean, Euge Groove and a bit of the Rippingtons.
