Anybody from Arizona? Or have you ever been near Flagstaff, AZ?

I think I've seen a few folks from Arizona, but I'm not sure. I have a question. Have you been to Flagstaff and is there anything to see there, is it possible to park downtown somewhere and walk around?

It is pointless to try to see the sights (in the Hopi reservation area) by yourself, do you really need a guide, are any of the mountains, craters, canyons accessible by a car. Does anybody know where the prophecy stone located exactly?

So those are some questions that I have. You're welcome to add anything you like.

I guess nobody is from from Arizona here. Well... If anybody decides to visit high altitude areas - drink plenty of water, I mean more than you think you need! My younger son is sick, I'm dizzy, my DH's gotten headache, the only one who seems to be ok for now is my older son, but who knows what's going to happen... Why none of the websites for guests mention this, I've been to high altitudes as a kid never had any issues, but I don't remember if I've done anything differently. This sucks... Not even sure if we're going to see anything...

I'd like to visit Arizona for Sun Devil/Cardinals football or D-backs baseball. The scenery there is nice. But now, I hope to prepare for the altitude there

Went to school at NAU, didn't have a car, so no idea about parking, etc. I hear the ice tubes are really neat.
I never had altitude sickness, but drinking lots of water is always a good idea in AZ, you may also want to up your salt intake....

We've come back from Arizona some time ago. I've ended up having pretty good time, unfortunately we couldn't stay longer. My younger son started feeling better so we were able to see some places. I went to Hopi villages with a tour (initially that was my primary goal). In the end we drove from Flagstaf to San Diego, awesome! I'm so glad we decided to drive, the views were incredible. The Devil's canyon is spectacular, never seen anything like that in my life! So yeah, drinking water helps a lot, not just for dehydration but for altitude sickness as well.
