Arrival

Oh my goodness, I just wanted a movie called arrival. That movie was an accurate and realistic representation of getting in contact with aliens. It kept me entertained and guessing what’s going to happen next. I had to share because it’s just so mind blowing. I’m still shocked.

I remember really enjoying this movie, even before I knew I had autism!

Other really good sci-fi movies, in my opinion, are District 9 and I think it's called Another Earth where Earth appears again and the people petition to visit their other selves.

A unique film in that it reminds of us of just how "alien" beings from another world could likely be.

That to understand them we have to do so on their terms and their science and reality. -Not our own.

I liked Arrival. It's a very different movie the second time you watch it, because you know what's going on.

After I saw the movie Arrival I went and read the novella "Story of Your Life" written by author Ted Chiang.

I felt the movie was a good adaptation of the story, however, I did feel somewhat irritated by Amy Adams' character, who although knew the future of her unborn child, chose to give birth knowing that her daughter is doomed to die a painful death.

The story suggests a different knowledge of time in that the decision was sort of "made" for her so she was unable to change it - she just knew the future without the ability to alter it. The director of the film, however, suggested that the character did have the ability to alter the outcome but she chose not to, which kind of ruined the film for me a little, to be honest.
