Aspie from Belgium

Hello everyone,

I am 21 years old male from Belgium who was diagnosed with ASD a year ago. My introversion is quite extreme. I tend to spend most of my time inside behind a computer and I am usually not interested in an outdoors activity if it involves more than 2-3 people (including myself).

Other than that I can say that I am currently studying applied linguistics and applied psychology. The latter interests me a lot because I have always been fascinated with the way that people behave (as I could barely understand it when I was younger). As for the linguistics, I understand Dutch (native language), French, German, English, Spanish, Afrikaans, and some Italian and Portuguese.

My main interests are soccer, psychology, physics, business and a game called RuneScape, which I have been playing for 7-8 years now. I also like to read during my weekly train trips (for university), but since I am not really interested in fiction, I usually read books that are related to either astronomy or psychology.

The diagnostic information: When I was a child I suffered from severe social phobia, which took more than 6 years to disappear. I also had, and still have for most part, some unusual phobias, such as fear of water (swimming), fear of swallowing pills, fear of dogs. Diagnosis for ASD happened last year when I was 20. Score on RAASD-R: 178.

I think that suffices. :)

Welcome, OnTheSpectrum! Glad to have another member fascinated with what makes typical behaviors tick, although I haven't chosen it as a course of study. I'm sure you'll feel right at home here, a lot of the other members are introverts.

I haven't really played Runescape in years, but I checked it out a while back. I think the last straw was how many previously-free services are now cash shop items, like the price checker.
