Would anyone be interested in starting a semi-regular thing where some of us get together on a Google Hangout or somewhere and watch old cheesy movies on Youtube and chat about them, maybe making Mystery Science Theater 3000-like jokes?

This is a thing that people do on Twitter that's kind of similar to what I have in mind (although some of the movies they watch are legitimately great, which we could do too; in some cases, you may have to come up with your own copy of the movie to watch or stream it from Netflix or somewhere else):

Sounds like something I would love to do, but it looks like you have to watch the movie at a certain time? I'm going to be studying a lot once school starts, so I don't know how it would fit in with my schedule.

Yeah, it would kind of need to be something we all did at the same time. Finding a good time to do something like this might be tricky with everyone's schedules and people being in different time zones.

If it's a movie that's accessible to everyone, maybe a group could be formed and work it like a book club - the movie would be given and people would have a certain time to watch it and a certain amount of time to answer back (just not in real time). Devote a certain thread to it. These days it's just too difficult to even get a couple people together for anything and people might be more interested in doing it if they aren't locked into something.
