Autism distinct anxiety

I got a lot out of this video so I wanted to share it with you:
I am diagnosed with both generalized anxiety and social anxiety, but I think it is mostly distinct anxiety, specifically related to my autism 🤯 curious if others can relate ☺️

Things that make me anxious:
Overstimulation
Any sort of conflict
Not understanding social dynamics
Others having bad intentions
Feeling lost/in my own world in social settings
Not being able to hear/follow conversations
Not being able to start conversations
Not being able to find a way to exit an event
Fear that others can tell I am different
Fear of someone misinterpreting what I mean, misunderstandings
Change in routine/plans
Not knowing what to expect
Any sort of rejection
Not being able to start tasks
Not being able to focus when I need to

Sounds sadly familiar.

I was never formally diagnosed with autism, but I was for social anxiety, clinical depression and OCD. At a time when Aspergers Syndrome was just being recognized by the American Psychiatric Association.

A time when it was agonizing to have to deal with much of anyone I didn't know or didn't have a certain "comfort level" with. Seeking medication to mitigate that anxiety. I used to dread social occasions having anything to do with work. So much masking and politics...made my head spin.

Dealing with people who had leverage over me (associated with work) usually made me nervous to interact with, even when the conversation was "light".

I think my anxiety is more generalized. A few things that causes me anxiety are:-

- Getting ill
- Work pressure
- Bullying/being judged
- Politics
- Losing loved ones
- Being homeless in the future
- Being in debt or having financial difficulties
- Certain noises
- Certain change
- Rules
- Being treated differently/double standards
- Being told off
- Scary things like fires
- Hearing of animals and innocent people being abused (empathy overload)
- Being called names online/personal attacks
- Going to jail
- Being murdered
- Other people's moods and emotions
- Being embarrassed
- Social rejection

There's probably more but I can't think of any more at the moment.
