A teenager with autism and a heart condition says he has been left traumatised after he was beaten up when he intervened in an altercation.

Lyndon Brown, 17, was sat talking to two female friends in Exchange Park, Eyres Monsell, close to where he lives when the incident happened on October 30.

He claims that a group of hooded boys approached them, punching his friend four times and stealing her bike.

He stepped in to stop her from being punched again, when the attackers turned on him.

Lyndon said he was punched repeatedly on the ground and kicked in the head.

He also claims one of the attackers got out a knife, slashing him with it.

Lyndon had to undergo dental work after one of his teeth was kicked out during the altercation and suffered serious bruising to his face.

He said: “I’m scared to go out now and I have panic attacks, particularly if I see anyone in a hooded top.

“I’m really nervous and I don’t want to go anywhere alone. I’ve been in a lot of pain.”

Lyndon was eventually taken home by police after one of his friends reported what had happened.

His mum, Stella said: “He has autism and Asperger's, as well a heart condition that he lives with.

"One punch could have caused a heart attack or brain damage and then he wouldn’t be here.

"This is very serious and I don’t want the person who did this to get away with it.

"He’s been through a terrible ordeal when he already has enough to contend with.”

A spokeswoman for Leicestershire Police said: “An incident was reported to us on October 30 and investigations are taking place.

"A 15-year-old was arrested and has been released while further investigations are carried out.

"He was arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm."
