Buddhism and Jainism

I heard that Jains who wear masks do so to not even harm flying insects but wouldn't Buddhists who don't wear a mask potentially harm an insect flying into their mouths

Isn't it logical to suppose that any maskless person, regardless
of faith/denomination, could possibly have the experience of an
insect flying into their mouth?

In Buddhism, if you did not wear a mask and killed an insect, that could also reflects the karma of the insect. But I am unsure why you think the Buddhism and Jainism, two different religions, would have the same practices.

I always thought Buddhists were against animal suffering but then I read this:--

The World Buddhism Association Headquarters plans to allow magician Jay Owenhouse to cage tigers in a parking lot near the Las Vegas Strip for 12 months, subjecting them to oppressive heat and distressing noises as well as activity from the adjacent condominium buildings, a monorail station, and heavy traffic. Other venues in Las Vegas have already rejected such cruel acts.
And if that’s not reason enough to say “no” to this magic act, Owenhouse obtained the tigers from notorious animal exploiter Bhagavan “Doc” Antle, who was exposed as a cruel tiger breeder in the Netflix docuseries Tiger King.
