Busy lately

Masked Man

Well-Known Member
I've been very busy lately and I have not been around much. I am four weeks into my most recent graduate program so I'm writing papers and reading a lot!

I also received a phone call from an employer who is interested in me. That was a shock! This is from a place I applied at about six months ago. I never heard from them, figured I didn't get the job so I moved on. But now they are calling me and want to talk to me about a different position. So it sounds hopeful but I'll have to call them back to find out more about it.

I hope everyone is well and the holidays were good. :)

Hope you've still had time to experiment in the kitchen, @Masked Man. Bake anything tasty lately?
Not really. I did attempt to make French macarons a few weekends ago but I think those are way beyond my levels of expertise. I could not get the batter to cooperate at all, and the first batch I made were basically just meringue cookies lol.

I do have to bake a birthday cake in a few weeks for a kid as part of the volunteer thing I'm part of but that's just a cake so nothing really special.

The cake is long gone by now.
Are you still involved in the volunteer thing?
Or what?

No not at the moment, I'm thick in my second-to-last practicum class, which involves 100 hours on top of my full time job.

In fact, I have not had time to do anything at all since I got back from my Italian trip at the beginning of May. And after this practicum is done, I'll have the last class which (as far as I know unless they've changed it) I have to write a 30 page paper.

Maybe when I'm done with all this I will get back into it.

Good luck with the job prospect, Masked Man! :)
Oh my gosh yes, the job prospect! I forgot I had posted about that as well.

I turned the job down. They were very interested in me however I was quite leery of moving on to this position because I found out that the person who I would have been replacing had only been in the position for 1 year when they left to go back to their former position.

I had to think about it for a few days but ultimately decided that the risk was not worth it. I really like my job, the perks I get are great, and I like my coworkers a lot. Risking all that for an unknown I decided was not worth it to me.
