I'm majoring in Accounting, beause I like Math and numbers and I read it's a good job for someone with aspergers, does anyone have any experience with accounting or finance and could tell me more about it?

Work for the rich to make all you can
Work hard for the poor to save them all you can
But be honest in all you do.
It's the Robin Hood in me, I can't help it... : )

I am a Cyber Security Major at school and that is very good with people with Aspergers.

That's an awesome quote. Finance can attract a certain type of people, so whatever you do, do it with integrity.

Also you've already got it sussed, accounting and software. I do like large volumes of data that I can see patterns in. So other areas I've worked in include
  • General accounting, pensions
  • P&L, balancing the books
  • Databases, sybase, db2
  • Stock exchange, buy sell, order books
  • Fixed income, mortgages, bombs (ironic autocorrect, bonds)
  • Regulations and reporting
I most enjoy reg now because it counters dodgy practices. Might one day try analytics, big data or anti money laundering. Though I'm getting a bit old to start again, maybe I should count whatever pitiful pension I've accrued....

What was your major?

What was your major?

Physics specializing in general relativity, then a postgraduate in computer science, 2 years of a phd in artificial intelligence before I gave it up (well ran out of money and food!), then an enterprise architecture certification. In retrospect I wish I had kept up biology, really interested in cellular biology and neuroscience now.
