Whenever I watch a Disney movie or show, or any movie or show at all (it's usually Disney though), I find myself obsessing over a specific character in it, and wanting to learn more about them, and wanting them to have more screen time, etc. The characters are the main reason I like the movies and shows I like. If I don't like any of the characters, I'll get bored.
Sometimes my loving a certain character turns into a full obsession. For example, I've been obsessed with Mickey Mouse since the beginning of 2008. I now have a bunch of Mickey Mouse merchandise and pictures of him on the computer. Plus I constantly find myself thinking about him or even writing little fan-fiction stories in my head. I can draw him and I know TONS of random facts and information about him, some of which are useless. I also currently have a mini-obsession with Scrooge McDuck, and I'm upset because I can't find out what specific day in December 1947 his birthday was on. Mickey will always be my #1 favorite character of all time though.
It's funny because I usually like the characters I can identify with, but Mickey and I don't have a whole lot in common. He's an extrovert and loves being around people, I'm an introvert and get anxious or bored with people. He's in a relationship, I'm not even interested in that stuff. Yet, he has a lot of personality traits (such as optimism) that I admire - and he's super cute too!
Anyone else get character obsessions?

not really anything like that i don't think but there are times when i would fall in love with a character i was reading about in a manga or a book and want to know everything about them. it never lasted very long though

I get that sometimes- but not to your extent :)
Maybe Janeane Garafolo in The Truth about Cats and Dogs.
I like Disney movies but cartoons and things I've never been so fond of.

A lot of my obsessions over the years have revolved around specific characters.

Ever since February of this year, I have been obsessed with the Mad Hatter from the 2010 Alice in Wonderland movie. Although I have a lot in common with Alice and she is very special to me, my love for her isn't as intense as my love for the Hatter. I relate to the Hatter because one moment he can be very happy and talkative, and then his mood can change suddenly and he'll be very angry. He sometimes has flashbacks of bad things that have happened to him and at one point in the film he has an episode that could accurately be described as a meltdown. Also, he laughs really hard at things that other characters don't find that funny. Other characters recognize that he is mentally ill and call him "mad", though when the Hatter asks her about it, Alice comments that "all the best people are". (That's my favorite part of the whole movie).

My other major character obsession that just started recently is the 10th Doctor from Doctor Who. I really admire him and look up to him. I wish I could be just like him, even to the point of dressing like he does, even though he is a man and I'm a woman. He is highly intelligent, brave and stylish. He is usually quite cheerful and outgoing, but when the going gets tough, he is fiercely protective of his ideals and the people he cares about.

Yepyep! I could write something similar about Mickey Mouse, totally analyzing him from his personality to his appearance to his filmography. I like the Mad Hatter, too; he's one of my favorite AiW characters, though I'm not totally obsessed with him. I guess I'll let you have him. ;)
I like intelligent characters too! When I watch The Great Mouse Detective I always find myself interested in Basil. Things like that always give me short-term obsessions; I'll be thinking about that character throughout the entire movie and just wanting to see it, and after the movie I might look up some information, pics or clips of the character... it usually doesn't last long, though, and I soon go back to Mickey. XD He's just so classic and timeless!

Patrick Star and captain jack sparrow. I can quote both of them all day long. Great characters, whoever came up with them. They're both adorable and hilarious.

I try very hard to ignore any character now that is not in the lead or obviously a major supporting character that will not die. Because, sure enough, if I like them then they will die. Maybe that's why so many Aspies like Star Trek? Huge cast to choose from, very little chance of the favorites getting killed. Unless for some reason they quit the show, but that's apart of all TV series with live actors.

My fav characters are:

- Susie the Little Blue Coupe

- Judith from Where the Wild Things Are

- Babs and Mac from Chicken Run

- Dory from Finding Nemo

- Wilt from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends

- Fluttershy from My Little Pony

- Mater from Cars

- Dusty Crophopper from Planes

I tend to gravitate towards characters that I find really cute, sweet or appealing as far as their personality is concerned, or ones that I can relate to really well. :)

I tend to get extremely obsessed over certain fictional characters. Right now I'm obsessed with Charlotte the Dessert Witch from Madoka Magica, I have two plushies of her and I ordered a keychain and a little figurine of her. I don't really know why I get obsessed with certain characters, I just do, and it's awesome. I have several other character obsessions but I'm too lazy to list them all.

I'm older than Scrooge McDuck ? Oh my !!!!

I have this kind of obsession once in awhile over fictional characters, usually from video games and they're mostly male.

My current obsession to top all other obsessions is the character Ben from the movie "Le Temps Du Loup" (Time Of The Wolf)
