I am soon to be purchasing another smartphone, but quite frankly, Samsung Galaxy is out of my price range - or more to the point, a good storage facility is out of my price range.

I have a small smart phone that is a samsung galaxy, in order to act as an mp3 player only and a tablet, both which play music with no issue and find that a phone that is not Samsung does not play music.

I have an excellent music app and yet, on two devices, which are not Samsung, I cannot play music.

UPDATE: Got a new phone. Samsung Galaxy A03 and loving it. Good price as well. Fantastic battery. Fast charger and slow drainage. 6.5 screen.

Are you trying to play downloaded mp3 on devices you have previously played on other devices at the same time?
For example, down load song to Samsung X (song plays), then down load to Generic X (song does not play).

I don't know if they still do this, or if you purchased off Amazon. but Amazon used to allow the active song liscence to one device.

Two different Galaxies might simply look the same to the computer so the liscence conveys.

I live in France and when my contract finished with the company I use, I was offered to buy another phone for just one euro and stupid me, asked for one that I can open the back on, since with my old device, I had to often open the back and the choice was their own make. Well, I loved it very much ie the features and the slimness, but when I downloaded my usual music player, all I got: can't play: not formatted and this happened too often and then, the phone went wrong and has been in repair 4 times.

I started to use yet another make "wiko" and could not believe that the same thing happened and yet, on my samsung tablet and prime core, have no trouble playing music.

My budget sadly is 200 euros and boy, samsung galaxy phones seem to be way over that, so therefore, was wondering what other make is as good as samsung galaxy?

Its better to get a small cheap tablet for music, phones aren't really designed to be an iPod (play music)type machine, get an Alcatel brand phone they're cheapish and work well ,I've got an old fashioned design Alcatel big button phone(4G network sim card) and a £40 tablet from ebay

Nokia have several phones that cost 200 euros or less. They used to make the best phones so maybe that`s worth a try.

Secondhand electronics may be a good choice here--old used iPhones or an actual MP3 player?

I am probably not the best to ask (the hottest thing I have here for music is a $10 thrift store radio) but used devices are often a fantastic value and much better for the environment, too.

We have a Motorola Moto E. Very cheap but works well. I can not confirm how well it plays music.

Boost mobile gave my friend a free Samsung phone for signing up. So he paid 55 for monthly and 25 to set up account. He decided to pay 7.99 monthly if his phone breaks, they will replace it. Plus Boost is offering free phone calls to Ukraine. They have plans starting at 25. I was originally with Virgin then Virgin was bought by Boost. So far, l haven't had issues.

I recently bought a used Samsung Galaxy S10e for $190 on Ebay. It was in A condition and I am very happy with it. I remember in reviews it was praised for it's sound quality.

The cheapest Android prepaid smartphones, which only cost $30, can play music perfectly.

Must it be a smartphone? I rate the Nokia E71!
Cheap, durable, pretty loud audio for a good length of time before needing a recharge.
I think I have just encouraged myself to purchase one off of ebay.
Best wishes,
Jim
