Clearly I'm new here.

I'm required to post something that will be approved by a moderator so to have some restrictions lifted...
Hopefully this is satisfactory. My name is Liam. I'm an INTJ.

Hi I ContainMultitudes. Why am I unable to PM people and access certain features? My account was approved, I think, so...

Hello Oscar. There doesn't seem to be much activity on this website, compared to similar sites...

Hi Liam.

I looked at the 'Post a photo of yourself thread' and I think you look good :)

There may not be much activity now on Aspies Central, but sometimes there are some thoughts that our members have that are worth thinking about :)

That aside, we always look forward to better things in life. We have our interests, we have our dreams, and we have our hopes. We have issues. But we always do our best to overcome them, through understanding, support and perhaps a smile. :)

Thank you Geordie. To be clear, I'm straight. Just wanted to get that out of the way. Haha.

It doesn't take me much time at all to think about where others are coming from, so I can come off a bit harsh at times when I see things from every angle imaginable to me; which is about every angle there is... ;)

It is difficult for me to look forward when I understand history, psychology, and many other things that come into play in this world very well. Sigh..

Ah Liam.

So you move from town to town, because you can understand the psyche of a place very well?

I just thought you could post that. Perhaps you have your unique perspective in each and every idea that comes across your head. You may not like it when it's too boring, too shallow in thought, or simply not the content being not engaging enough to your liking. You're not alone!

I was bored with AC when I first joined here three years ago (after being booted out of one forum, and being a pariah in another one), even after posting dozens of posts and more each and every day. I still can't get enough! But then, I thought, it would be fun if I posted a few threads about the areas that matter to me the most. Maybe we'd like to know more about your thoughts on southern United States culture, Civil War history, and personalities in this forum. We'd love to explore more about the world we live in.

Also, I wonder if you watch sports. Then we may have a common point of interest. :)

Overall, I think all you may do is to post here, wait for replies for maybe a week or so (since a few of us do work, and need some time to think about a reply), and hopefully enjoy what is written here. Meanwhile, feel free to do whatever readings you please.

I just thought Pittsburgh's flag is a nice variation of the 'Anarcho-Capitalist Flag', for example :P

Geordie,

I'm far beyond outside the box/norm in my understandings. In fact, I'm tongue tied and couldn't begin to explain, but I'll give it a try...
Restrictions of any kind, even the most extreme, and called for by the herd, stifle growth. That said, I'm against governmental/authoritarian control of any kind. I understand how our minds work, and what they need to progress. We must go through chaos to get to order; not order from chaos-- know the difference. We do not need restrictions to have order; order stems from understanding, understanding stems from experience, and being punished for our experiences prohibit growth. We must accept the fact that some will fail in life, and that will be warning signs to those of us in the know. Natural selection, if you will. It's not that I don't care for the less fortunate, that I do! However, we need to realize that not everyone will understand. Humans, like other species, have the herd mentality. We must change our mentality as a whole. And many would like to say education is the way to do so. I somewhat agree in that sense, but the education systems have clearly failed. So we must stray from the norm, embrace individuality, which most wouldn't recognize if it smacked in their faces. Freedom is something most claim they have, though they're far from it.

It is important to understand how our bodies/minds work. How TV, a musical tones have an impact on our thoughts. Plato wrote about this... It is known as the culture creation industry. I follow this industry closely, and see the patterns ever so clearly. Some might say I'm paranoid, and I would quote Burroughs by saying " paranoia is just having all the facts."

Now, I do not claim to know it all, that would be foolish. Just know that I understand psychology very well, and how easily we are misled. When someone tells me their favorite musical artist, film, book, or television show that speaks volumes to me. I'm then able to know how they see things. I notice everyone's mannerisms, tones, and all else... One's gestures say so much.
This is yet another reason I don't mix well with others; by others I mean the ones that remain ignorant to their actions.

Hello Liam! Welcome to Aspies Central. I saw your picture too and I must say you're actually quite handsome (this coming from a young 23-year-old female). As for your Meyers-Briggs Personality type, you are one of many INTJs on this site; I'm almost the complete opposite of your type: I'm an ESFJ. I may seem like an NT, but I do have many qualities that are associated with AS as well.

The only reason that they put restrictions on the first few posts new members make is to protect the forum's security and stuff like that. I had to go through it as well when I first joined four months ago and it indeed said "Requires moderator approval" or something along those lines. Just thought I would stress that this is a procedure they do with everyone, not just you. Quite frankly, I feel good that the staff and moderators care about the safety of this wonderful forum; it's like caring for a close-knit family in my opinion because they are looking out for the best interests of its members.

Hope you are enjoying everything we have to offer here and that you continue to post often if you have any questions, concerns, or any insight you would like to share with us.
