Coldest night of this winter yet...

-28 Celsius

And I went to a small concert tonight, as in drove my car to it... I'm not going to stop my life over some silly winter weather :p

I had the tickets a few weeks ago, just happened to be the same evening as the cold weather, I wasn't about to miss the concert...

That's -18 F!

Brrr!

Was it an indoor concert? I hope that's not too ignorant a question to ask, I don't go to concerts unless it's for an orchestra or a choral group, and those are always held indoors anyways.

But -18 F! And this was December 1st? Brrr.... maybe we're in for a long winter!

Of course it was an indoor concert, but I still had to get there and back... Now I'm off to work, indoors at a warehouse...

I'm sure you do know when Winter officially begins.

I like to take advantage of anything that limits the feeling
that Winter is any longer than it really is.

This is a little strange, I see a quote of my post further up. But I didn't write in this thread. I think. Did I write that? -28 isn't fall weather anyway. That's cold, the coldest I have experienced was -42 back in the 90s. When it drops to -28 and below it's a little nasty. :fearscream:

Spoken like a Native Nevadan.

Winter always produces a "tell" between those who live here, and those who were born here. :p

I wasn't born here and grew up in even colder weather (Virginia) , but spent too many years in the sun belt to appreciate any really nasty winters.

Funny to recall having to walk a mile and a half in the snow to elementary school for some years.

Not as cold here because we had a very warm November but the temperature is dropping much more now at 1 Celsius. And my lizard is still insisting that he is not going to sleep for the winter — maybe he heard about Samichlaus?

I am hopeful that we will get snow but not too soon.=D

It appeared to be a full house, but it was a small venue... Many people here don't let a little cold weather get in the way of an evening out... But most of them are people who are from around here

I like Winter and snow, but man, THAT IS COLD!

It's certainly not warm ... A friend of mine used to live in Denver for a few years, it is a winter climate there, but he told me that it's warmer than Calgary...

I was looking at the weather report now. And they guy said that next week there will be wind coming in from Siberia over the entire country. And I thought oh, that sucks a little, that wind is always bone-chillingly cold. Then he said the tempereature will most likely drop to -30 celsius. And I said oh crap! And then he said that with a little bad luck it could drop to -40. And I said :fearscream:

My deep freezer is -18 degrees so it would be much warmer to live in that. I should pack a bag and run away right now, that's too cold. Majorca, Florida, I don't care, just anywhere but here.

It’s cold here too, but not that cold. Temperatures just around freezing temperature. It’s never been this cold in my house though. With the soaring gas and electricity prices I don’t want to turn up the heater unless I really have to. Which sucks, because my house is really poorly insulated and damp.

Yes, that's a huge problem now. And now it will get much colder. :fearscream: We're actually sending gas and electricity to you guys in the Netherlands now, and Great Britain and Germany and Sweden, hopefully we won't run out. It's dangerous, especially for the elderly, they are sitting in cold rooms trying to save electricity. I have elderly relatives I worry about. This winter is rough.

38 Fahrenheit here right now (7 Celsius)
That’s relatively warm for this time of year.

Winter finally released it's grip here and I enjoyed a pleasant day of 32 celsius. Now it's 1:30 in the morning and it's still a very pleasant 22 degrees. I have trouble imagining the temperatures you people are talking about. The coldest I have ever experienced is about -6.

32 degrees? I'm so envious. :) That's 62 degrees warmer than what we will probably have here next week.

I have had a plan to go to New Zealand when autumn arrives in Norway and then go back to Norway when autumn arrives in New Zealand. Outsmarting winter. :D That plan it sounding better and better.

I've decided to see New Zealand as well, sometime in the next few years.

I got in to skiing and loved it when I was younger, I have no cartelege in one knee to prove it. :) But I wouldn't stay up there overnight, we'd just go skiing for the day and then drive back to Melbourne.
