Welcome what I got was gratitudeCan I get an aspie perspective of some verses? Psalm 144:1 to begin.
If I said, "tell me the meaning of the 9th line of The Rime of the Ancient Mariner"... you wouldn't be able to do so with accuracy without the context, not just of the text of the rest of the verse but the entirety of the poem.
Not only has the verse got a context but we have our own context as Auties.
I would say that the author is saying "thank you for the abilities you gave me". There are many layers of interpretation that are possible with this verse. It is poetry after all.
This verse was used in the film Zulu to great effect IIRC. .
Context =
1.
the parts of a written or spoken statement that precede or follow a specific word or passage, usually influencing its meaning or effect:
You have misinterpreted my remark because you took it out of context.
2.
the set of circumstances or facts that surround a particular event, situation, etc.
==============
I think starting at the beginning would be a good idea.
Genesis.
My first attempts at reading the Bible, I tried Psalms.
Didn't make much, if any, sense to me.
I read Job because it is featured in the Bible as Literature classes.
The anthology of material which is called the Bible didn't
begin to make sense to me until I started at the beginning
and read through. Out loud.
This is another person's point of view>

Sure.Thank you. Can you or someone give me the gist of things in John 15 ?
That's great. It is a metaphor based of viticulture (I'm a bible geek as a special interest and a horticulturalist by profession.I feel Jesus is both the husbandman and the vine, and that we are branches. And that branches that bear good fruit are purged and bear more fruit. And that we are clean through God's word.He abides in us, as we him. With out God we can do nothing. If one does not abide in him then they are bad fruit and will be cast away into hell. Keep his Commandments and abide in him and he will love you.
This is my gist . Is there a shorter way or more accurate way to describe it?
