Are there any food products either from the grocery store or a restaurant that you liked but were discontinued and you wish they came back? I have a few I can think of:

  • Yoplait yogurt had a type of yogurt for awhile that had whole wheat berries inside.
  • Dairy Queen had a hard ice cream that was served in their stores briefly called Queen's Choice.
  • There was a pop (soda) that I really liked when I was a kid called: Rondo.
  • Lifesavers made large lifesaver shaped lollipops that were swirled and came in flavors like strawberry and cream and blueberry and cream.
  • There was a fast food restaurant in the 1980s in our area called "Famous Recipe Chicken" and the chicken was "honey dipped" and it was very good.

Nutchos chocolates - My mother adored them but they're long gone.

My daughter was excited to find Dunk-A-Roos in a UK candy shop last week.

* Borden's canned milkshakes.

* Frozen/boxed submarine sandwiches.

* Red Barn's "Barnbuster" Hamburger

* A box of "Chipsters" - Potato Snack

* Loved Mars Bars...but they seem to be continually discontinued. :confused:

Was the Mars Candy Bar Discontinued?

Prior to about 2010 or so, most of the natural products and foods were manufactured by little hippie mom and pop companies. They all got bought out, and now they are made by big companies like Pepsi and Procter and Gamble. The ingredients have changed, the quality has changed, and it's all just so corporate and uncaring for people and the environment anymore. I miss the original products so much. There are very few left that are still just little hippie companies trying to live close to the earth.

Stouffers Creamed Spinach. It was so close to the delicious creamed spinach that I enjoyed at the Berghof in Chicago. I now will make it from scratch sometimes, but my spouse never liked it.

Taco Bell’s Chili Cheese Burritos.

Rockstar’s Pomegranate energy drink.

Safeway brand tiramisu ice cream.

Halva.
Basically ground up sesame seeds and sugar, sometimes with added flavouring.

It used to be commonly available in California (30 years ago!).
But now I just buy a s--tload whenever I'm in Bismarck ND.
Guess it could be mail ordered.......

These are my 2, maybe it's a good thing they're discontinued, I'd likely eat copious amounts if they came back.

My Great Aunt lived in England, and she used to bring my Grandmother these lovely Sultana Bisquits when she would visit. They were flat and sort of crispy, but puffy too. They had raisins on the inside. I grew up on those. I haven't eaten them in decades, and every now and again, I crave them.

Oh my! It reminds of me growing up in Detroit. We used to go to Windsor, Ontario to shop. There we stocked up on English delicacies like honey butter, jams and marmalade. Plus, we always bought sliced Peameal Bacon, the REAL Canadian bacon.

Were they like this? I think these used to be called Sultana biscuits by the vendor:

Garibaldi Biscuits, 12 Packages

Dutch Apple Pop Tarts. Then they made Apple Cinnamon, which I didn't like as much, and canceled them, too.

Eggo Wa-Fulls. They had different fillings in them like maple and Strawberry.

Cherry filled Nutri-Grain breakfast bars. Now the closest they have to it is mixed berry or something. I think they still have them in cherry in the US.
