Do any of you regularly enter contests?

Do any of you regularly enter contests?

I don't, but recently found good contest sites for Canadian residents. I think that from now on I'll try to dedicate at least an hour a day entering contests. Why? Because:

A.) I've free time.
B.) I've come across contests online where the odds of winning were insanely high and have won. I particularly find that lots of Facebook groups have extremely easy-to-win contests on them, especially groups with a small amount of members.
C.) As a kid I was lucky as hell and would often win contests I'd enter . . . perhaps the luck hasn't run out?

I know you may think "what the ****'s the point!" but you'd be surprised at how much expensive **** you can win if you dedicate even an hour a day entering contests. I've heard of people winning $10,000+ worth of prizes within the span of a year just by entering a few contests on a daily basis. I know that the odds of winning something grand like a car or lots of money wouldn't be very high, but you never know - you could eventually win something great.

I might enter the occasional contest if it's quick and easy to enter (In particular, Things from Another World, which is sort of the company store for Dark Horse Comics, has contests I enter occasionally). Otherwise I typically don't bother, especially since I don't think I've won a single contest like that in my life.

This isn't completely related, but...

One time when I was a kid (maybe 8-10 years old) I was at Knott's Berry Farm (one of those large amusement parks). They had a contest for guessing the number of jelly beans in a jar. I guessed, and even though there were lots of kids there, I got third place and the prize of four jars of tasty jelly. This was a big deal for me.

I'm currently in the habit of signing up to about 30 contests a day. I check multiple Canadian forums a couple times a day for new contests and re-enter daily entry contests every morning.

This may seem like a lot, but it doesn't take long to fill them out when using the built-in form filler in the Firefox/Chrome add-on LastPass; most contest forms take less than five seconds to fill out when using it. All you usually have to manually type out is a CAPTCHA (most contest forms have them) which generally takes less than five or ten seconds to type.

I was really inspired to start doing this once I realized that it's completely feasible to win even $20,000 (or more) worth of stuff a year by filling out contests daily and being sure to re-enter daily entry contests everyday. Just a little while ago I came across someone online who said they had a "bad year" because they "only" won about $19,000 worth of stuff this year. :twitcy:

Despite being born with ****** luck, I use to play the lottery, always betting on the same numbers. Needless to say I never won anything. Not even heads-or-tails.

I've entered a few contests here and there, haven't won anything. I'm never sure which one is legit and which one is not. I don't really feel comfortable giving my personal information to any random website. At this point I don't enter any contests, mostly for this reason.

I just received an email a few minutes ago telling me that I won $100 (yes - a legit email).

Nothing too outstanding, but I'm rather pleased.

Cool! Enjoy your $100!

I've recently entered a few contests on a site called Listia. It's a sort of Ebay-like site where you get points for "selling" items that you can use to bid on other items (I've found some good deals on used books this way). They have periodic raffles where you can use your points to buy raffle "tickets." The other day, I spent a few of my points on "tickets" to for a raffle to win a Dyson vacuum cleaner just for the heck of it. I didn't win, but I'll probably still do that every once in a while when they have a raffle for something that I'm at least semi-interested in having.

When I was a teen, I entered and won quite a few contests. I got so tired of winning that well, I stopped entering contests.

Now I am happy to join contests and just to see how others are doing in such contests.
