Do certain colors look better with certain knits or weaves in clothing?

I was thinking about this, and was wondering, have you ever thought if certain colors look better with certain types of weaves or knits in clothing?

For knit fabrics, I personally think there is something very flattering about interlock fabric in my favorite shade of pink (Fairy Tale); it has a nice look as if it were straight out of a fairy tale. I really love my interlock polo in that color. Darker colors tend to look better with piqué knits though.

For woven fabrics, a nice pale pink looks good with casual or dress shirt fabrics (poplin, oxford, etc.), a deep blue looks good with denim, and a deep red looks good with flannel.

As long as it's not grass green or canary yellow, or itchy I'm okay.
