Do I have Aspergers/ mild Autism?

I don't really know if I have Aspergers so I put "Unsure" for my status. But I think that I have AS.

My traits are:

*Sensitive hearing, touch and sense of smell
*Not doing eye contact
*Obsession with science
*Good memory
*Struggle with social situations
*Dont feel sorry for people who are not nice
*Taking things literally
*Rocking backwards and forwards
*I can only pay attention if I have a paperclip to bend


As you can see I have a lot of the traits but I have no diagnosis so what shall I do? I am 12 so what do I say to my mum because we have never talked about this. Do I have aspergers?

you should talk to your mom about it and ask to go to a psychologists, and those are traits of it but that doesn't mean you have it, it could be something different

Good memory and the not emphasising thing with nasty people (I imagine that's most NTs) aren't really specifically Aspie traits...(unless your memory is savant level)

Talk to a teacher at school?

You don't have that many traits, but there are a few which sound very Aspergers. Have you all three in the triad of impairments? If not then the most you could have is PDD-NOS.

It isn't about proving to yourself or anyone else you have it. Just go to a psychiatrist/psychologist and have them make that determination.
