Do you have a desk at work?

Are you able to decorate it?
Like put photos up or have a beautiful pen container and like a beautiful memo pad and like little statues or fairies or something on the top to make you smile. Put some motivational quotes somewhere to keep you motivated.
If I could have a desk I would also have a lollipop jar or a candy jar for me and other workers could take some. Then some days I would take it away so they would not come each day maybe just have it out on fridays or mondays if people needed some sugar motivation to start the week.
And also I believe work should let you play music even maybe in ear phone or a small desk radio if it does not offend others, people have to agree but if people can agree to a certain playlist even for an hour then I believe things like music can increase productivity.
Same with rests and proper meal breaks and toilet breaks and days off occasionally like 4 day weeks. I know it is hard, people do need to work but there is sometimes a lot of unemployment too.
How would you decorate your desk, 1 if you have one or hypothetical?
I do not think I would enjoy a job at desk but I think it would be fun to decorate

Yes I have a desk, and it's 'decorated' with stacks of books, pens, pencils, computer stuff, fidget toys, CDs. Music, of course, that's a no brainer. I work from home and live alone, so I can have as much mess as I like :)

That is cool, I have s desk at home too in my room that was my childhood desk, it is pretty messy at the moment and I cannot really fit in the chair that well.
If I get a chance I may try to clean it a bit to paint again. It has to be near light

My home office desk.
This is where I do all my video, audio and photo editing as well as the boring business end of my job.

It’s technically a gaming computer, but it was gifted to me and I don’t play video games. It runs on Linux though and it is basically just an editing station.

I literally took this picture just now, and realized that I need to get my laptop charger away from the dog crate lol

I work in a garage so I don't have a desk lol.
I have one at home though. It's not very organised. I try my hardest to organise it but it still somehow becomes disorganised and I can never find anything.

That is nice I can see you really like cats.

My desk is functional and not so decorated as it is remote now. I used to have to go to an office, and had a few things here and there. I don't miss the commute or the idea that I had to be on time 5 days a week.

I do have a desk at work, but they’re moving to hot-desking so I’ll have to share it with someone.

And we have a clear desk policy, so if I did decorate it, I’d have to clear everything away at the end of the day.

Reminds me of when the cubicles in the office I worked in went up in 1981. The branch manager instructed his subordinates that no one was allowed to put anything on the walls of their cubicles. No exceptions.

So I improvised and made a cheatsheet/board of cardboard that simply leaned against my cubicle wall, but was in no way attached to it. After all, it was strictly business information I needed to make my job more efficient. I still was approached by the Operations Manager, who oddly told me only that the Branch Manager "disapproved". (The Branch Mgr. being same guy who hired me personally as a friend of a friend.)

My response to the Ops. Mgr. was, "And?" She just smiled and said nothing. That was it. They never approached me about it again, and eventually within the year people did start putting personal items on their cubicle walls.

I suppose the Branch Manager nearly had heart failure when the corporation adopted casual Friday attire.
Could be worse. I still recall Safeco Insurance who made all the mean wear their jackets while seated in their workstation. You gotta be kidding! But it was true at the time.

Life in Corporate America in the 80s. A period of transition. :)
