Do you have a teddy you could never let go of?

ExplosiveTMT

Humour's my middle name.
Basically, what I mean is that, I have a teddy that I've had since childhood. As I've gotten older I've never seen any reason to put him in a cupboard or give him away.

He still sits on my bed as he always has and I still treat him as a friend. :) Besides, I find it easier to talk to him than to most people.

Is there anyone else who finds that they can't let go of their ted?:)

I used to have one that made music for Easter that I couldn't part with :D I think it was my grandfather who ended up throwing it away because I used to annoy the hell out of him lol XD

I'll just copy the post I made in an earlier thread:
Here's my little teddybear. It's been with me ever since my first day in this mess. It got stuck in the attic for a few years, then I found it again and carried it around everywhere. Just under my shirt at first, but it would fall out and get lost, with much drama as a result. But I'd always find it again. It was sort of a security blanket for me I suppose. It has been through many things, if that wasn't clear by it's ragged state. One ear got chewed of by a dog and I think one of the feet fell of too at some point, but I glued it back on.

It's still here.

One of the things I miss most from home are my stuffed animals. I have a stuffed rabbit from Build a Bear workshop that I made in highschool and I have a shark pillow pwt. Both mean a lot to me. I wish I had them with me this past year and a half.

I have a stuffed rabbit named Everard and a stuffed bear named Ruggles, both of which I've had since birth. I could never part with them. Once, when I was 5, my mum threatened to throw them both away because I'd misbehaved, and I went hysterical. I don't think she knew at the time how much they actually meant to me.

I also have a few stuffed cats, including Pickles and Pickles Jr, and a rabbit that smells like chocolate, which belonged to my Nan before she died. She liked stuffed animals, and I'm glad I have a few things to remind me of her. There's no way I'd get rid of those either.

I don't have a teddy bear, but I have a big Simba plushie that a friend gave me when I was 11. I'm 20 now and still sleep with it every night.

What's really weird is I couldn't sleep with a stuffed animal as a kid. Tried millions of times, couldn't do it. I wasn't able to sleep with a stuffed animal wrapped in my arms until recently.

I could never let go of the stuffed animals I've had since I was a little kid, or the ones I have/have had as a teenager and young adult. My plushies that are comfort items are Dory, my dolphin, Babs, my chicken, and my tiny Dumbo Tsum Tsum plushie. :)

I don't think I ever had teddy bear, specifically. But there are a lot of stuffed animals I wish I could have with me because they were my best friends for so long.

I have had a brown & white teddy bear and a blue polar bear since I was 4 years old.
They are not the comfort-people I choose to sleep with now.
I like when the cat comes and stands on my chest when I am in bed, then snuggles himself down in the crook of my arm
to sleep all night.

There are pros & cons to this. (no particular order to the listings)
A. the teddy bears can't move, won't come to me, aren't warm, are stiff-ish, always available, I can repair if necessary
B. the cat is warm, flexible, sentient, animated, will die sometime, talks to me

I won't throw away my stuffed toys, but for real comfort & fun,
I enjoy the cat.
