Do you know your purpose in life? Why you were put on this Earth?

Topic.

Personally, in nearly 42 years I still don't know exactly why I'm here, surely it's not just to be the butt of the Daily Mail's rage about my being on benefits due to disability and unable to work?

So how about you lot? Why are you here? Or are you like me and not found out yet?

As far as I'm concerned, my "purpose" is my dog. To give him the good life he deserves, same as with other pets I've had (including both dogs and cats). I try to keep him as happy as I can.

And yes, that's a very worthwhile goal to me. Like any dog or cat or whatever, he deserves to be happy. So, I can facilitate that.

Outside of that, I just do whatever. My main hobby is gaming, so I do alot of that. Not really a "purpose", but it works well enough.

And before someone mentions job/career: I'm not interested in helping some stupid corporation get more money. So.... that's a big fat "nope" right there.

My personal purpose is to help other addicts out of their addiction if they really want to go that route.

Granted, I have the whole lack of verbal communication skills thing that makes this somewhat challenging for me. But it is good that I have found one area where I can be useful.

I don't feel like anyone has a purpose. I don't believe in a greater plan, I don't believe things happen for a reason.

In my opinion, life is what you make of it (while random stuff happens to you).

In my worldview, trying to find your purpose in life is rather pointless, and you'd be better off finding out what makes you happy. But I guess for some people those things are two sides of the same coin.

I believe I was put on Earth to help others. It doesn't matter if you feel no one cares about you as long as at the end of the day you feel like you've made a difference in someone's life.

My purpose in life, is to bring praise to my God and to do my utmost to be a part of taking care of what I perceive as His Creation.

Within that purpose, is to preach and teach, but for anyone who seeks answers about why we are here? Etc.

Also within that purpose is to follow what I know my Creator knows is best for me and to do the best I can, as an imperfect person to look after myself.

Does a purpose need to be the same everyday? Today my purpose seems to be sweeping up hay and doing dishes. Tomorrow perhaps it will be something entirely different. Mundane stuff, sure, but perhaps it is the mundane that matters instead of the grand ideas presented in books and film. Why must we always focus on that sorta "Manifest Destiny" sorta thing? Just wondering.

This is a very thoughtful post! I just want to say that!
