Do You Love Overcasts?

Title says it all...do you guys like overcasts? (Cloudy/rainy weather?)

I love them so much. I always seem to have a good day when there is one, and school goes by a lot faster, probably because it feels like it's morning all day. It's awesome. There is one today and it rained a bit, it made me happy. Haha. I hate the sun, it's too bright and I think the heat is absolutely miserable.

Do any of you feel the same way?

I'm opposite, the hotter the better for me I love sunny days and the sun always makes me sneeze when I first step out and I like sneezing lol, cold and cloudy days makes me feel really down and miserable.

Yeah, I like overcast days. They have this calm feeling to them that I like. I remember playing outside with my older brother one overcast day until it started to rain, when I was 8 1/2. (We then went inside and watched TV until my older sister took the cord out.) For some reason, that day is one of my favorite childhood memories.

So much. I usually have to wear dark glasses when I go outside, but if it's overcast it's usually not so much of a problem. Also I 'm a photographer, and if I'm doing photos it's nice to have it over cast because then you don't get harsh shadows or squinty people.

I like overcast days in the summer because the sun, heat & humidity are truly unbearable. Some cloud-cover at least renders the days liveable. In fall, I like sunny but cool crisp days. The cold dark drizzly rainy days can be exhausting for me & a little draining. It remains dark until late morning & then it gets dark by 16h. For those who work indoors, it can be really depressing & suicide rates & mental illness rates increase sharply in severity here as some people are perpetually stuck existing in perpetual cold & darkness for months on end.

It really depends. I have seasonal affective disorder in a pretty major way - all the more so when you consider its severity even here in Tennessee. Part of it is that even when it's sunny in the wintertime, the sun is low in the sky and thus doesn't do quite as much for me. So I can enjoy the occasional cloudy, rainy day, or even fog - the place I live is famous for the frequency and thickness of the fog. On the worst days, you can see about twenty feet in front of you, and it lasts for days on end.

However, I love thunderstorms! Especially when it's just approaching, and you can smell the ozone and feel the dampening of the air. I love the torrential downpour, the lightning, the smell...everything about them. :)

I wear a big hat when it's sunny to keep the sun out of my eyes. I live in the uk, so get far more rainy days than sunny ones. But a big stormy sky is great, and I love watching rain - as long as I'm inside looking out at it!! :) Ive a patio door which I keep open most of the time, no matter what the weather.

I;m completely opposite, I feel how you do about overcast days about sunny, clear days. I suffer from SAD though so I'm miserable when it's dull - or at least, I struggle to get through the day more than usual. I'm much more productive when its sunny and warm :D

I agree, when it is cloudy I am sad and my body aches. I like sunny weather. Although I do appreciate the occasional thunderstorm.

Me too, they're so exhilirating. When it was really windy in primary school in the buildup towards a storm I'd love to stretch out my hands and pretend that I was commanding the air turbulence with magic powers.

I do prefer overcast days. Sunny days often give me headache from the squinting, and the heat is just so draining on me. Plus, in the schoolyard, as soon as I step outside, the reflections on all the white shirts are blinding.

Hardly anyone in Australia agrees with me on that, though. They all rejoice when it's 27 degrees Celsius, or above, but I just dread it.

@Soup: my heart really goes out to all those living in QC that are struggling with the scant hours of sunlight. I can't imagine what that would be like.

And just a small curiosity. How often would you write 4pm or 4 o'clock instead of 16h?

i am not on the spectrum, but my son is. He never has heat on in his room. He keeps the window open all year round. We live in washington state in the U.S. Do you think that it is typical for people on the spectrum to be sensitive to temperatures?

Oh, I am sensitive to excessive heat, but not so much the cold, so there's a match. I try to turn the heat on as little a possible, but it's necessary at -20.

Now, there's a lot of types of weather in Washington. Are you more on the coast or inland?
