Hi! I'm Rooney.

Okay. So, don't kill me, but I am a self-diagnosed "Aspie" and I have been for about four years now. The only reason I haven't gotten a diagnosis yet is because I realized it too late and I didn't really require the services.

My Asperger's is not terribly severe, but it does still affect how I function. But I don't really tell anyone unless they ask or unless I feel like they should know. Only a few of my friends know, and they haven't changed the way they act around me. So that's a win. :)

I guess a few things about me other than asperger's:

I just graduated high school. Woohoo! :D I'm going to be going to art school this fall for film.
I absolutely love filmmaking and movies in general, and I know making movies and writing books is what I want to do with my life.
I love Pixar, Disney, Avatar: the Last Airbender/The Legend of Korra, video games, and a myriad of other things. I have too many special interests to count. :P

I hope to get to know you guys and continue learning more about autism. :)

Welcome to AC pancake :) Self-diagnosed, officially diagnosed, nuerotypical...whatever, as long as your friendly who cares :D

Although it's never too late to get a diagnosis if you that's the only thing stopping you

Hi Pancake!

Why would we kill you? We're a pretty nice lot. Welcome to the forum. I hope you soon feel as at home her as I do. Every Aspie is affected differently by the syndrome so don't feel you have to be a certain way on order to be accepted. You sound like an interesting & very creative person. Good for you on graduating to boot!

Welcome welcome Pancake we are a great bunch. I am glad you found us. Have fun, get great support and lots of people who understand.

If you think you are an aspie and you relate to us, who cares if you have a diagnosis or not. Welcome

welcome Pancake-well done for getting here! Killing self diagnosed aspies would have to be right at the bottom of my hitlist, if I were ever to make one. As you know many people here take things literally so it's just as well you did not start by saying "OK, so Kill me"! anyway enough jesting-I hope you gain much from this site and I feel sure you will have plenty to offer up in return. I am learning much and have felt encouraged to contribute to various posts- I started on 9th july and this is my 68th post. well done on graduating!

We're very happy to have you hear, pancakesailship. Congratulations on graduating, and good luck with pursuing film and literature - that's exactly where I'm planning on going after I graduate.

Oh, and Disney and Pixar rock! I've always loved them, and I always will!

Do share some ideas here in some threads that you feel you can contribute to. And yep, have fun with art school and its work :D
