Does anybody else here have an issue with enforcing their own boundaries?

I used to crumble under guilt trips and let people take advantage of me on a regular basis. I had zero personal boundaries a few years ago. I just sort of accepted that other people’s wants were far more important than my own need to take care of myself. I was a magnet for predators until just a couple of years ago, actually.

I was wondering if anybody else here has gone through this, and how they got out of it.

Yep I'm a total people pleaser. I really struggle to say no and have been taken advantage of as a result. It's something I am working on improving.

I feel really guilty if I have to decline to help someone, even if I really can't. But we're told all our lives to think about others, but we're never reminded to think about ourselves.
