Drugs/alcohol?

To me it seems uncommon for aspergics to drink alcohol or use drugs recreationally. In fact, it is only in the past two or so years that I started smoking and occasionally binge-drinking.

I've noticed that - as a side-effect, perhaps - I've changed significantly. I used to discuss various subjects with people, and not realise how bored they were. Things are different now. I can read people very easily. Maybe this is the result of spending (wasting) so much time in the company of others, or because I spoke to so many people while drunk (alcohol is said to be a "social lubricant"), or a combination of both.
This loss of social impairment is the only change. I'm still dead emotionally, and prefer cats to other people.

I never do either. I have tried alcohol but it seemed to have little or no effect on my thinking. But typically, I have the belief that neither are of any benefit.
