Imperfectly Perfect
I had an interview to drive a dump truck for a large asphalt paving contractor. The interview seemed to go very well and I was pleasantly surprised that the interviewer has CDL driving background. This meant that he did not try to feed me a bunch of baloney or try to convince me of anything; he was very straightforward. He was even surprisingly honest and said that he might not be able to hire me right now because he needs people that have some experience to hit the ground running. I am a logical and rational person so I understand that he's got a business to run so he will probably take someone that needs minimal orientation. The interviewer was even honest about having a lot of appplications to go through. I don't think I've ever been through an interview before where I did not get the corporate speak lines and all of that obnoxious stuff. He got right to the point and I can get behind this. He told me that I would, at the very least, get consideration.
