Dying Earbuds: If there's ONE THING that i can't stand...

So you just found a song on YouTube you can't stop headbanging to. You decide to get it off Mp3juices.cc. Then you decide to go to the nearest Family Dollar and buy a 1.00 pair of retractable earbuds. They work fine that day.

Then the next day, for no apparent reason whatsoever, one side is mute and the other is fine.

WHAT THE HONEST [blip] IS THIS [blip]?!

Dear Earbud Manufacturers

Make some [blip] that works.

Sincerely, UberScout.

Invest in a quality pair of headphones for home, buds on the go. If it's socially appropriate to wear headphones in the environment, I mean...not sure about that. Might want to check with the Ministry of Aural Affairs to be sure...

Ah, screw it, you know what to do here.

A sad reality. So many electronic products (almost all from China) that retail between $1 and $15. Always looking like a bargain, yet customer feedback will likely reflect a very high percentage of negative comments. Often citing that the product simply ceases to work after a short amount of time.

Some "phantom", no-name company cranks out "x" amount of units and voila...we never hear from them again. I can't help but guess that they just change their name/label and move on to making another batch of the same shoddy product.

"If it's too good to be true, it usually is."

-A lesson many us learn. But hey, if you can for just a buck you're doing good IMO.

I personally have quite expensive earphones, about 60 dollars, but they've lasted me really long. I believe I had my first pair for about a year. Then it broke internally, so it wasn't possible to visually see what the problem was, so they refunded me the full price. Of which I bought new ones, which has lasted me nearly a year again (they've started slowly deteriorating, but I'm not sending this one back too yet).

The sound is awesome, but it really depends on how important earphones are for you. If you were to buy 1 dollar earphones each time it breaks (which might be daily in case of OP), you'll have spent more on them within 2 months than a 60 dollar pair that lasts about a year.

There are also cheaper earphones that also last longer, but then again, it all depends how important they're to you.

Wow. I guess your next gripe will be the fact that the cheap watch you purchased at the same Family Dollar isn't on par with a Patek Phillipe Grand Complication.

Quality costs money; you get what you pay for. Good earbuds will cost you about twenty-some bucks. If you can't afford that, then don't bother. No offense, but the cheap stuff really is a waste of money.

Oh yeah...I was lucky enough to inherit Grandpa's old watch. He got it back in 1959 and wore it until his death in 1994. My dad got it and put it in a drawer until he died in 2015. I pulled it out of storage, wound it up, set it...and it keeps time almost as well as the clock on my smartphone.

Guess who made the watch? Rolex.

See, you really DO get what you pay for.
