Anyone else a little overwhelmed or weirded out by extreme couponers, (blackhole series on Discovery +).
Just the sheer amount of prep work, the physical shopping, the loading, the unload, the time in line arguing about every penny for 300 travel size tubes of toothpaste or 46 cans of pinto beans, the reloading, transfer.
Then you're driving to the next stop on the list, repeat the process, until the vehicle is fuller than the car on freshmen move in day at college. Finally comes the unloading, the hauling, and putting away the haul and rearranging all the existing stockpile. And then you have to live with all of this stuff in your space until you either use it or it expires.
There are people who swear by it, but personally, I think it looks like form of hoarding. The time, energy, space, and effort expended to maintain these stockpiles is mind boggling.
I think I'm doing okay when I have an extra package of toilet paper or cat food because I know it will be used within a reasonable amount of time. I guess I'm looking at it as a source of a meltdown trigger.
If you are not regimented to the point of military precision you'll have a doom pile in a matter of days.
What are your thoughts and or experiences?
