Fall mountain biking/hiking

I’m not trying to wish time away, but I’m looking forward to Fall and the cooler temperatures. I like fall mountain biking and trail running/hiking . :)

Do you guys like fall?

Fall is my favorite season in New England. The air is cool and the colorful maple trees shine against a rich blue sky on a sunny day. I love the smell of the dry, decaying leaves and the scent of a log-burning fireplace nearby.

I love fall. Although it’s a very rainy season here. I love those crisp fall mornings where you step outside and the air just feels fresh and clean and invigorating.

After this record hot summer, yes- fall is looking pretty good at the moment. :)

Though after the 10th of October, here snow can come at any time. Much like Russia. o_O

Oh yes, autumn is my favorite season. Kayaking in cool temperatures with no mosquitos. Big antlered deer. Colorful leaves crunching underfoot. Delicious berries, foggy mornings with mist rising off the water. The slap of beavertails as they gather branches for winter food stores. Crisp chilly mornings, low sun in sky, warm intense sunlight colors, getting out the wool and boots, hats and gloves, and digging out soup recipes, and snow shoes for later. Hooray!

I miss the backyard fire pit I had in Ohio. Fall is great fire pit weather.

It's probably my favorite season in general. I'm not one of those pumpkin-spice-all-the-things people, but I do enjoy the fall. Summer seems too superficially cheerful for me, but fall is right there in the sweet spot. Not too warm, not too cold. Rainy, but not unbearably so. It will occasionally snow, but not too much. Perfect weather for watching football, or drinking beer with friends by the fire pit.
