Family says bullies dumped bucket of bodily fluids on son with autism

omg, I saw that on facebook, it makes my stomach turn. I can't fathom how anyone can even begin to think that something like that would be ok. NT or not that just.... God, what does that accomplish?!?

This really gets my blood to boil.... I certainly hope those thugs that did that to him are criminally prosecuted. My sympathies go out to the young man and his family.

A similar situation took place some weeks ago in Florida, where a 16 year old autistic boy was lured into a party and beat half to death. I can post a link to the story and the rather huge campaign against the perpetrators here if you like.

I am thinking that a law need be pushed through the courts making it an additional crime to commit crime against a disabled or otherwise challenged person. We have enough to deal with already.

Oh, I'm sure the courts will handle this. The offenders were foolish enough to record it, after all. That's all the proof a prosecutor will need.

You gotta love stupidity :/ I bet the video would land these POS scumbags in jail and I do hope that they change and that everyone involved learned a lesson ...

This is freaking sick and uncalled for! What the hell is wrong with people !!!

Typical human nature, when I was in school I was regularly thrown down the granite steps to the second floor classrooms, and for a while the fun game was everyone taking turns kicking me in the crotch from behind. People are all a**holes, so when they find someone atypical to pick on, it is open season.

I had the same problem in high school, constantly having my books and "trapper keeper"(remember those!) blasted out of my hands and going all over the floor, wegies ect. I hated gym glass, we had to shower afterwards, although I snuck out most of the time to avoid the bullies. I think any type of bulling should be a crime. I couldnt count the number of times I was beat up or beat down in school. I was that atypical person that just stuck out. I feel sorry for this person and hope the ones involved are thrown in jail. Mikie

That act of bullying was a very horrible and disgusting thing to do, they gained nothing out of it other than a high chance of being transported to jail. Common bullies tend to target Autistic people mostly for some reason, those are the sort of people I dislike as they are the type who like to discriminate people of who they are.

I remember at a younger age I used to be targeted for bullying mostly due to my characteristics linked to Autism, which was obviously different to a behaviour of a young neuro-typical. It's quite prejudiced.

I'm going to amend this statement to read "Common bullies tend to target anyone with what they perceive to be a weakness---or, in some cases, a threat."

And generally speaking, people often ostracize those they do not understand. When I was a kid, I was picked on because of my cerebral palsy, which makes me walk differently, and because of my intelligence. Some of my bullies just found it easy to pick on the girl who walked funny. They had nothing better to do. To others, I was considered an academic threat, so they singled me out for my brains.

Long story short, there's always something. But obviously there's a huge difference between name-calling and what these kids did to their classmate.

I just find it funny that people are never quite as outraged about someone being attacked for being born with brain/mental/physical characteristics they couldn't control as opposed to inherited racial/ethnic characteristics. I'm not trying to downplay racial discrimination, but shouldn't we see this kind of discrimination in a similar light? Maybe it's because there's no autism/aspergers lobby or voting bloc. Actually, that's exactly why, now that I think of it. Everythings quid pro quo in this world.

This is an accurate observation - if this kid had been a racial minority, it would have been a national outrage. Because he is autistic, it's a sideline story.
