Favorite day

Before I turned 25 it was my birthday... now it's nothing, I only celebrate because it's fun for the kids. Holidays and celebrations cause only stress and depression nowadays... Hopefully it will change one day.

@Geordie
In a way but not quite. I developed sort of routines (more or less) for celebrating all the holidays but then my husband and I moved away from my parents and friends. In a new place (both new places, we moved twice, 2 different countries) I couldn't create new routines neither was I able to make new friends. So nowadays it's all about spending money that we don't have and stuffing ourselves with food... I don't know maybe for me switch from one life style to another has caused too much confusion. I'm still in a recovery mode :) but to be fair I do like Christmas in US more then in Ireland (no offence to any Irish folks here, I love Ireland). It feels like a very special time here and you can't help but start believing in miracles :) I'm not Christian btw, I was baptized but stepped away from the religion. My husband did the same thing. But we still celebrate Christmas.

Yep. Christmas is still a time when 'Joy to the world, the Lord is born' rings in our head :) It's still cool

That's kind of how I feel about Christmas. I'm not religious but I really enjoy the atmosphere of it. It's my favorite time of year, the decorations are whimsical...(when I lived in Germany I lived in a very traditional place in Bavaria, so a lot of traditional Christmas decorations remind me of that time) and the overall atmosphere is nice.

And a plus, is that everything is closed and most people are indoors and not partying too heavily. So if you want to walk around town or do something, wherever you go is rather peaceful.

Sometimes a day of quiet and peace with bliss and happiness really cheers all, even in the cold of Northern Hemisphere or, in some cases, hot blistering summers

My favorite day is the first day I stopped censoring the porn I look at. Really. Even though nobody else could possibly know what I was looking at, I was still scared to look at what I wanted to, probably some internalized homophobia or something. And when I stopped, that's how I came to understand that I liked guys.

My favorite day is today,
because that is the one
in which I am living.

A day I like to think about
is 'Christmas Eve.' I have
always liked Christmas Eve
because it is full of expectation.
