I thought this would be a cool idea, but I don’t know if anyone will participate. I thought it would be neat to post a picture of an item that you cherish/love the most. I posted a photo of my teacup because I love the look of it.

There are thousands of teacups within the world and each one of them have their own unique designs. I thought this would be a neat idea because it would provide an opportunity to learn more about each other and what we all cherish.

I've collected plastic toy soldiers, especially knights since childhood. This has always been my favorite and even has gone to the hospital with me to sit on the tray and be a small cheerful thing. I actually have about 20 of them and 20 in blue and 20 kneeling in green and in yellow. I like it because although fairly simple it captures perfectly the make believe aspect of knights in the hollywood films I liked growing up and also the colorful aspect of medieval manuscript illustrations.

That is such a cool and neat concept. Thank you for sharing. I’m happy you have such a special connection to your plastic toy knight. I love that you take it with you at the hospital to always have a piece of home with you.

I like this thing, it's a wooden horse my grandfather gave to me. During WW2, the Germans sent 100 000 Russian prisoners of war to camps in Norway to work. One of them made this, he carved the horse with a knife and built that little carriage. And he gave it to my grandfather. So it has a special history and it's a link to my grandfather. He fought in the war and did some things around the camp the Russian was in.

You might consider leaving that to a museum when you pass over to the great beyond, perhaps even a museum in Russia. German POW camps for the Russians were notoriously bad, so the ones who ended up in Norway may have been fortunate.

My dad stole his fathers cigarettes and traded them for a wooden carving from a German POW near where he lived in Nelson, UK.

So very many things. Because I have less stuff I value a lot of it more. If I had to pick an absolute favourite item it would be my furret that my partner gave me years ago. Other things of value to me like laptop are replaceable. This is not. This has memories and was a gift. As far as I'm concerned there is only one of this specific furret in the world.

That medieval painting is beautiful! I love artwork like this.

I think my fav item has to be my motorcycle. It's taken me a lot of places. I love the idea that everything I need is packed up in two boxes and a bag, and I can kinda go where I want. Of course - the reality isn't quite like that, but sometimes it's not too far off.

Wow, looks dreamy.

How long did it take you to ride across the ocean?

:smilingimp: Kidding. But seriously, how did you transport your bike between continents?

For short trips - on a ferry. For long haul - in a box. It's actually a lot easier than you might think. I just take it to an airport and there will be a logistics firm that will sort it all out. Then I fly. And pick it up the other end.

Here it is arriving in Houston airport, mostly unboxed. Tends to get a lot of attention wherever it goes!
