FE2LA's 2024 Year-End Message

Hey everyone,

As 2024 winds down, I’ve been reflecting on the year that was, and I wanted to share a few thoughts. It’s been another year full of experiences, many of them centered around anime conventions. I’ve made new friends and reconnected with old ones, and honestly, those moments of shared enthusiasm, laughter, and appreciation for the things we love really made the year special. There’s something about the energy of those events that reminds me of how vibrant and supportive this community is, and I’m lucky to be part of it.

Alongside the con adventures, I’ve spent a fair amount of time at sporting events—sometimes it’s about the game, and other times, it’s about the people and the atmosphere that comes with it. Whether it’s a victory, a comeback, or just a well-played game, the excitement and camaraderie have been a consistent highlight of my year.

But when I look back on 2024 overall, I’d say it’s been… okay. There’s been a lot of noise in the world, a lot of things out of our control, and yet, I’ve found that in those quieter moments, there’s a sense of balance. Despite all the chaos around us, it’s the connections we build, the small victories, and the things that bring us joy that really matter. Those little things made this year feel meaningful.

I want to take a moment to remind you all that I’m here for you. Whether this year was one of your best or just one of those years where you got by, I want you to know that you’re not alone. We’re all navigating our paths in this noisy world, and no matter what you’re going through, I’m always here to listen, offer support, or share a laugh. This community, with its diversity and support, reminds me that there’s always a place where we belong.

So, as we look toward 2025, I think about what lies ahead. We don’t know what challenges it might bring or what fears might emerge, but I believe that, together, we can face whatever comes our way. Let’s enter the new year with hope, with the knowledge that no matter what happens, we’ll be here for each other.

Here’s to a year of new opportunities, shared moments, and continued growth. Let’s make 2025 a year to remember—one where we face the unknown with optimism, support each other, and find joy in the journey.

Cheers to the new year,
Johnny
